Gordon Arnold Grimes, 86 of Ashland, passed away suddenly on Monday August 31, 2020 at Kings Daughters Medical Center of acute heart failure.
He was born April 26, 1934 the youngest of 10 children to William and Alene Grimes.
Arnold proudly served his country as a helicopter mechanic of the U.S. Army. Arnold retired January of 1997 after 43 years of service as a conductor with CSX Railroad Tampa Division. He was a proud member if UTU.
Arnold was preceded in death by both parents and nine siblings.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Linda Sue Frazier Grimes; children Ann Waiwaiole (Dean) of Brandon FL, Shannon Lambert of Lexington, and Scott Lambert (Nikki) of Grayson; grandchildren Crystal, Joshua, Jenny, Alexis, Elijah and Piper, and great grandchild Gabby. The family will deeply miss their gentle giant, and all the support, patience, love and understanding he provided throughout the years.
Funeral Services were held on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Caniff Funeral Home. Burial followed at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens.
