Burchie Workman, 93, of Paintsville, Kentucky, died Monday, October 5, at her home in Westwood.
Burchie was born August 23, 1927 at Red Bush in Johnson County, to Henderson and Emmer Skaggs. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Homer ‘Smitty’ Smith and by Jay Workman. She was also preceded by two granddaughters: Misty Smith Ward and Tangena Marie Blevins; three brothers: Carl, Murel, and William Skaggs; two sisters: Mary and Eunice Skaggs.
Surviving include a son, Lynn ‘Pat’ Smith of Paintsville; two daughters: Virginia Castle of Westwood, and Mary Smith Blevins of Paintsville; four grandchildren: Janette Blanton, Jake Smith, Rachael Smith, Mesha Workman; three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Burchie attended Hilltop Christian Baptist Church and loved fellowship time with her church family. Funeral services were Wednesday, October 7 at Preston Family Funeral Home. Burial was Thursday, October 8 at Highland Memorial Gardens in Paintsville, Kentucky.
