Ivan D. Stewart
Ivan Donald “Beans” Stewart, 70, of Ashland, passed away at his residence on Monday, November 2, 2020. Mr. Stewart was born December 5, 1949 in Ashland, a son of the late Ivan J. and Annabelle Porter Stewart.
Beans was employed at AK Steel and Steel of West Virginia with 45 years of service in the steel industry. During his employment he was involved in many activities, and he managed and played for the Steelworkers state championship softball team. He also helped organize the Q plus program, a grassroots Labor & Management Program. He set on the Steering Committee with members of the top management and union leaders, that was a successful program that gave workers a voice in the company. Later he accepted a position in the Quality Department until the downsizing of AK. He then became a successful salary employee of Steel of West Virginia until his retirement.
Mr. Stewart was a member of the Rose Hill Baptist Church. He loved to play golf and was an avid UK sports fan. He also served as past president of the former Aquabears swim club. Ivan and his brother, Philip, were also instrumental in the organization and development of Ashland’s Poage Landing Days for many years.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife Nancy Booth Stewart of Ashland, his son Sean Stewart and wife Tiffany of Ashland, a brother Philip (Lora) Stewart of Ashland, sisters Anna Jean (Jerry) Brown of Ashland, Lisa (Ed) Bures of Florida, Rhonda Stewart Howard of Ashland, his grandsons Braiden Stewart and Bentley Stewart, and a host of extended family and good friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 5, 2020 at the Steen Funeral Home 13th Street Chapel by Rev. Jim Nichols. Burial is in the Rose Hill Burial Park.

Maxine Mullins Meade
Maxine Mullins Meade, 90, of Ashland passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Woodland Oaks Healthcare Facility with her loving family at her side.
Maxine was born August 28, 1930 in Westwood to the late Heskie Roland Mullins Sr. and Louise Mae Holbrook.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two grandchildren Jeremy Meade and Tracy Cumpton; three brothers Virgil Lee Mullins, James William Mullins and Heskie Roland Mullins Jr.; and one sister Bernadine Jackson.
Maxine was a member of the Democratic Women’s Club and a former member of the Road Runner Club. She loved quilting, but above all she loved her family and was a devoted mother.
She leaves behind her loving children; two sons Michael Meade (Adrianne) of Centerville, Ohio and Ron Meade (Kathy) of Greensboro, North Carolina; two daughters Vicki Cumpton (Gene) and Melinda Risk (Tom) both of Flatwoods; three grandchildren Rocky Cumpton, Mitchell Meade and Tony Meade; seven great-grandchildren Dave Lovins, Haley Shoraga, Will Meade, Lauren Meade, Miles Meade, Mila Meade and Kaelyn Meade; a very dear friend Linda Caines; along with a host of extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Caniff Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. - 1. Sandra Jean Robbins
Sandra Jean Robbins, 65, of Ashland, formerly of Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed away Sunday, November 8. Sandra was born November 19, 1954 in Lincoln Park, a daughter of the late Ernest “Jack” and Alice Saremba Dumond. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life Danny Robbins.
Sandra was of the Christian faith. As a loving homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her excellent cooking. She loved a good bargain, was an avid coupon user and loved her Detroit Tigers Baseball team.
Her beautiful soul and loving kindness will be deeply missed by all that knew her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Sherry Krstovski and husband Kris of Novi, MI, Sherry Cassell and husband Jason of Catlettsburg, son Daniel Robbins of Ashland, brothers Hugh (Doreen) Dumond, Keith (Phyllis) Dumond, sister Kimberly (Mark) Scott all of Michigan, her grandchildren she adored Yasmeena, Jordana, Brookyln, Bohdan, Yamila, and Vivienne. Sandra will also be missed be her dear friend Cathy Sherwood of Royal Oak, MI and her beloved K-9 companion Bear.
Funeral services and burial will take place at the Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, MI. Date and time will be made known at a later date.

Waska Bush Kersey
Waska Bush Kersey, 91, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at the Community Hospice Care Center.
She was born August 30, 1929, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Cynthia Williams Bush. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Jack Kersey in 2019; a great granddaughter, Kate Parsons; six brothers and one sister.
Waska was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. She was a loving and devoted homemaker.
Those left to cherish her memory include a daughter, Pat (Gary) Ingram of Ashland; son, Keith (Cheri) Kersey of Ashland; grandchildren, Amanda (Marty) Brennaman, Kelly Ingram (Jeremey Lewis), Brandon (Vanessa) Kersey, and Aaron (Sarah) Kersey; great grandchildren, Jack Parsons, Madison Kersey, Asher Kersey, Scarlett Kersey and Everett Kersey; two step great grandchildren, Cade and Abby Lewis. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with Rev. Jim Webster officiating. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday.

David Michael Newsome
David Michael Newsome, 80, of Ashland, husband of Judy May Newsome, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at UK Chandler Hospital.
He was born July 2, 1940, in Ashland, a son of the late Delbert and Opal Ison Newsome. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Hughes in 2006, and sister, Faye Adams and her husband Lowell Adams, of Ashland.
Surviving include a sister Sandy Fraley, and husband Randy, of Ashland; two sons: Mike Newsome and wife Dianna, of Catlettsburg; Jeff Newsome and wife Kathy, of Summit, along with six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
David was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church where he served the Lord avidly and enjoyed worship and fellowship with friends and family. He delighted most in serving the youth ministry and working with the kids at the Boyd County Regional Juvenile Detention Center.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 6 with service time by Brother Jason Porter at Gospel Light Baptist Church in Summit. Burial is in the Rose Hill Burial Park.

Billy Gene Kinner
Billy Gene Kinner, 81, of Ashland, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.
Mr. Kinner was born January 21, 1939, in Louisa, to the late Greenville and Lucille Ross Kinner. In addition to his parents, Mr. Kinner was preceded in death by several siblings.
Billy was an operator for Calgon Corporation in Catlettsburg, and a member of Liberty Baptist Church, Cannonsburg.
Mr. Kinner is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Betty Lou Fryer Kinner of Ashland; four sons, James Kinner of Portsmouth, OH, Billy Jay Kinner of Flatwoods, Michael Kinner of Ashland, and Jason (Natalie) Kinner of Winchester; two daughters, Cheryl Lewis of Grayson, KY and Lenora Bradley of Ashland; thirteen grandchildren: Elizabeth Kinner, Jordan Kinner, Allyson Kinner, Aiden Kinner, Andrea Hensley, Chandler Kinner, Linkin Kinner, Brittany Mickalls, Crystall Mickalls, Dova Christian, Candace Bradley, Robin Kearns, and Sandra Jarvis; ten great-grandchildren: Bryson, Cayson, Logan, Raven, Shania, Lou Ann, Jacob, Arron, Sammy, and Paul; and a host of extended family and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens in Ashland.

Robert Fletcher McKee
Robert Fletcher McKee, 86, went home to be with Jesus Saturday, November 7, 2020 with his family by his side.
Robert was born September 14, 1934 in Wallingford, Kentucky to the late George T. and Chloe Lee McKee, who preceded him in death.
He proudly served his country in the US Army. He retired from Verizon after 34 years of faithful service.
In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by one son, Lannie Gene McKee and two brothers, George McKee, Jr. and Virgil McKee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Janice Hamilton McKee of Westwood; a son, Robert F. McKee Jr. (Pam) of Summitt; a daughter, Sandra Lena McKee of Westwood; a sister, Betty Gulley of Wallingford; grandchildren, Kristen McKee, Gina Brown, Caleb Collins, Jacob Christian and Tiffany “Nikki” McKee; two great grandchildren, Mason and Aurora, along with a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 7 p.m. at Grace Church of the Nazarene by Pastor James Webster. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. at the church. Burial will be on Thursday at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast. Those wishing to attend the graveside must meet at 10:45 a.m. Thursday at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood to line up for the funeral procession.

Camron Scot Wilson
Camron Scot Wilson, 18, of Ashland, passed away Friday, November 6, 2020.
Camron was born October 7, 2002 in Ashland, Kentucky to Scot Wilson. He was a senior at Paul G. Blazer High School and was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. Camron played football, was a member of the Ashland track team, and wrestled with the Ashland Mat Cats. Camron was a very happy guy and an extremely good sport.
Camron is survived by his father, Scot Wilson and his wife Heather; sister, Skylar Rae Wilson; Paternal grandparents, Darren and Page Wilson; Great Grandparents, Fred and Susan Runyon; Aunt, Holly Daniels; cousins, Noah Reese Daniels and Corbin Wyatt Lands and siblings by marriage, Kylee May and Waylon May all of Ashland, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Randall Ray Fairchild
Randall Ray Fairchild, age 43, son of Harold Lloyd Fairchild, and the late Joanne Robinson Fairchild, passed away in the early morning Saturday, October 31, 2020.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his four children: Jacob Hall age 22, Jeremy Fairchild age 18, Lexi Fairchild age 13, and Sophia Fairchild age 5. He was the beloved husband of wife, Levenna Fairchild, who he had been with for over 20 years. Randy had two brothers who will miss him, Steve Fairchild and Joseph Fairchild.
Randy worked hard throughout his life and many who knew him knew he was a good soul. Randy fought a long hard battle and is finally at peace.
A funeral service was held at New Beginnings Gospel Fellowship (1818 Main St W, Ashland) on Sunday, November 8, 2020.
