Paul Anthony Bellamy


   Paul Anthony Bellamy, 54, of Catlettsburg, KY, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, KY.

   Paul was born on October 4, 1966, in Ashland, to Charlotte A. Bayless Risner of Flatwoods, and the late Wesley Earl Bellamy. In addition to his father, Mr. Bellamy was preceded in death by a sister, Christy Risner.

   Mr. Bellamy was a mechanic at Sargent’s Wholesale Tires in Ashland.

   In addition to his mother, Mr. Bellamy is survived by his loving wife Juanita Sue Welch Bellamy of Catlettsburg; one son, Tony (Felicia) Bellamy of Raceland; three daughters, Amy Bellamy of Ashland, Brittany (Brandon Sanders) Vaughan of Huntington, and Ashley (Jason Boyd) Vaughan of Catlettsburg; eight grandchildren; one brother, Rocky Risner of Flatwoods; one sister, Kim Risner of Flatwoods; and a host of extended family and friends.

   There are no services scheduled at this time. The family has entrusted Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, KY with the arrangements.

Stephen Ray Manning


   Stephen Ray Manning, of Ashland, passed away with family at his side Saturday, November 14, 2020.

   Steve was born April 29, 1957 in Ashland to the late Lester Ray and Ethel Spencer Manning.

   In addition to his parents he was preceded death by two brothers, Kenneth Manning and Paul Manning.

   Steve was a member of Gateway Church and formerly worked at Ashland Oil in the maintenance department. He loved to hunt, fish, and was an avid Ashland Tomcats football fan. He also enjoyed watching Westerns.

   He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Huff Manning; one son, Jason Manning of Ashland; one daughter, Sara Miller (Brian) of Ashland; sister Teresa Leonhart of Greenup; sister in law Mertice Manning; six grandchildren: Lexie Miller, Griffin Miller, Jonas Manning, Jossalyn Manning, Josiah Manning and Joyanna Manning; several nieces and nephews; along with extended family and friends.

   Funeral services will be held on 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood. Burial will follow at Golden Oaks Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday 12:30-2:30 p.m.

Gary Thomas Nelson


   Gary Thomas Nelson, 65, of Ashland passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020.

   Gary was born March 05, 1955 in Ashland to Walter and Bessie Arthur Nelson.

   He was preceded in death by his father Walter Nelson; one brother Mike Nelson; and one sister Carolyn Gussler.

   He was a Tankerman with Ashland Oil Marine Division.

   He leaves behind his wife of 32 years Lora Caddell Nelson; his mother Bessie Arthur Nelson; one daughter Courtney Nelson; two stepsons Butch Perkins and Josh Nelson; five brothers Danny Nelson, David Nelson, Charles Nelson, Rick Nelson and Billy Nelson; three sisters Linda Butcher, Brenda Craig and Roberta Cordle: four grandchildren Isabelle Nelson, Nathaniel Nelson, Nate Perkins and Megan Perkins; along with a host of extended family and friends.

   A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2020 at Caniff Funeral Home in Westwood.

Walter Kenneth “Ken” Baker


   On Friday, November 13, 2020, Walter Kenneth “Ken” Baker, went to be with the Lord at the age of 79.

   Ken was born July 8, 1941 in West Irvine, KY to Walter and Anna Ruth (Faulconer) Baker.

   He was a member of Unity Baptist Church, an avid Kentucky basketball fan, and a great friend to all who knew him, and he loved his family dearly.

   Ken is preceded in death by his father and mother, as well as several aunts and uncles.

   He is survived by one daughter, Lori (Alan) Stringer of Ashland; his two grandchildren, Leslie Stringer and David Stringer; his brother, Mike (Joyce) Baker of Lynchburg, VA, his sister, Becky Willis of Bartlett, TN, four nephews and a niece, an aunt, Margaret Whitaker of Richmond, KY, an uncle, James Baker of Cincinnati, OH, a host of cousins who he loved dearly, and his former wife and great friend Anita Baker.

   His memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, November 19, 2020 at Caniff Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Shamblin officiating. Burial will be at the West Irvine Cemetery in West Irvine, Ky.

Sandra Jean Robbins


   Sandra Jean Robbins, 65, of Ashland, formerly of Lincoln Park, Michigan, passed away Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. Sandra was born November 19, 1954 in Lincoln Park, a daughter of the late Ernest “Jack” and Alice Saremba Dumond. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life Danny Robbins.

   Sandra was of the Christian faith. As a loving homemaker, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and will be remembered for her excellent cooking.

   She loved a good bargain, was an avid coupon user and loved her Detroit Tigers Baseball team.

   Her beautiful soul and loving kindness will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

   Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters Sherry Krstovski and husband Kris of Novi, MI, Sarah Cassell and husband Jason of Catlettsburg, son Daniel Robbins of Ashland, brothers Hugh (Doreen) Dumond, Keith (Phyllis) Dumond, sister Kimberly (Mark) Scott all of Michigan, her grandchildren she adored Yasmeena, Jordana, Brooklynn, Bohdan, Yamila, and Vivienne. Sandra will also be missed be her dear friend Cathy Sherwood of Royal Oak, MI and her beloved K-9 companion Bear.

   Funeral services and burial were at the Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery in Flat Rock, MI on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

Beatrice Ann Queen


   Beatrice Ann Queen “The Queen Bea”, was born April 25, 1936 in Ashland, Kentucky and passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at her residence.

   She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Ronald E. “Ronnie” Queen in 2016; son, Douglas Ray “Bud” Coburn Jr. in 2018; parents, Kelly and Lessie Gibbs; sisters, Sharon Gibbs Manning, Lydia Gibbs Wallace and Thea Gibbs Adams.

   Bea leaves behind a family who loved her dearly. She is survived by a daughter, Connie Coburn Melvin of Ashland; daughter in law, Cindy Coburn of Tulsa, OK; grandchildren, Angie Massey and David S. Melvin (Tiffanie) of Ashland, Kelly Albers and Kim Reed of Tulsa, OK and Douglas “Beau” Coburn III of Mexico; 12 great grandchildren; sister, Sandy Gibbs Ferenz of Ashland; and a brother, Kelly Gibbs of Ashland

   Bea was of the Christian faith and greatest joy in life was time spent with her family. The family loved coming to Bea’s house for dinner. Boy could she cook! The love between Bea and Ronnie was the greatest for all to admire. She was considered as the anchor to the family due to her love for each of them and she will be deeply missed. Her positive spirit was contagious. She loved sharing stores of her 84 years. She had a zest for life and was an amazingly strong woman. She made sure each of her family members knew how much she loved them. Her family came first and foremost.

   A graveside service was held Friday, November 13, 2020 at Rose Hill Burial Park with Chaplain Jimm Smedley officiating.

Thomas A. Hilgendorf


   Thomas Allen Hilgendorf, 71, of Ashland, died peacefully Saturday morning, November 7, 2020, at his residence.

   He was born July 13, 1949 in Port Washington, Wisconsin, a son of Gloria Klug Hilgendorf of Cedarburg, WI and the late Norvin HIlgendorf. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Hilgendorf.

   Tom was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Ashland. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for 31 years for Thrift Drug Store, was a small business owner and retired from G.E. Transportation. He was a train enthusiast and he enjoyed many extensive trips with family and friends while traveling the railways.

   In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife Pamela Burt Hilgendorf of Ashland; two daughters, Meagan Pinkston (Chris) of Ashland; Madison Hilgendorf of Seattle, WA; granddaughter, Allie Pinkston of Ashland; brother, Robert Hilgendorf (Nancy) of Germantown, WI; sister in law, Cindy Hilgendorf of Hubertus, WI; and his beloved fur baby, Sheldon.

   Funeral services were held Thursday, November 12, 2020, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Mark A. Kloha officiating. Burial followed in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North East where military honors were provided by the United States Army and American Legion Kenova Post 93.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in Tom’s memory should be made to Soldiers Helping Soldiers or Disabled American Veterans Charity

Vicki L. Kelly


   Vicki Kelly, 64, wife of Danny Kelly, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Tuesday morning, November 10 at Kings Daughters Medical Center.

   Vicki was born November 20, 1955 in Ashland, a daughter of the late Willis ‘Wick’ Blevins, Sr. and the late Bonnie Hall.

   She was also preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her step mother; Louise Potter Blevins, and a step brother; Willis ‘Les’ Blevins, Jr.

   Vicki was a former employee of Daniels Bakery and was the Secretary of Oakview Elementary School for 25 years. She attended First Baptist Church of Russell.

   Surviving, in addition to her husband, include a daughter, Cynthia Renee Kelly of Ashland; step brother Buford McCallister of South Point, Ohio, and a sister, Linda Parks of Ashland.

   Funeral services are  Tuesday, November 17 at 1 p.m. by Pastor Ken Gowin at Preston Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Blevins Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time.
