Charlie Sellards, 74, of Bellefonte, formerly of Rush, died June 22. Charlie was born July 19, 1945 in Ashland, a son of the late Raleigh and Shirley Kinner Sellards.
He was a retired inspector with AK Steel, attended Williams Creek Church of God, and was a U.S. Army veteran. Charlie served in Okinawa, Japan with the rank of Sergent where he received Expert Marksman (Rifle M-14) and National Defense Service Medals.
He was preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by three brothers: Ronnie, Danny, and Terry Lee Sellards. Surviving include his loving wife, Vivian Hicks Sellards; three daughters: Kelly Blankenship (Tim) of Huntington, Katherine Sellards (Mike) of Seattle, WA, and Lisa Riley (Glen) of Ashland; son John Riley (Amber) of Columbus, OH; brother Larry Sellards (Pam); sisters: Sue Davis, Elizabeth Copley, Doris Reed (Louis), Peggy Crews (Pete), Judith Partin, and Carolyn Forbush; grandchildren; Dylan Nichols (Brooke), Brooke Gee (Kaci), Nikki Gee (Josh), Beau Riley, Brandon Fields, Kami Sellards, Ava, Griffin, Scout, Grayson, and Crew Riley; great granddaughters: Emma and Ellie.
Funeral services were Friday, June 26, at Preston Family Funeral Home by Brother Mike Green. Burial is in Kirby Flats Cemetery with military honors by the U.S. Army, the Kenova American Legion Post 93, and the Patriot Guard Riders.
