Jason Smith
Jason Smith is the Chief Operating Officer for The Greater Ashland Beacon, handling all of our IT needs and offering website and ad design expertise. Like his wife, Kimberly, Jason has been with The Beacon since day one. As of late, Jason is also trying to reach our viewers through new outlets, such as videography.
Jason was born and raised in Ashland, and now comes to visit regularly as he lives in Virginia with his wife. He hopes to retire in Ashland once his children are finished in school. Mr. Smith also prides himself on being the silliest and most laid back of the four owners, often pulling the pranks and making everyone laugh when they are together. For fun, this creative guy enjoys playing guitar and performing magic.

Kimberly Smith
Copy Editor
Kimberly is the Chief Layout Artist for The Greater Ashland Beacon, where she assembles all of the weekly content, articles, photos, advertisements and submissions to make the newspaper look like, well, a newspaper. She has been handling the layout for the company since one month after we began the journey.
Kimberly is the only team member that wasn't born and raised in the Ashland Area, however she has held close ties to the area since 2006. She and her husband, Jason have been two of the four owners of The Beacon since its inception in 2011. She has two children, two dogs, and two cats, and loves to read in her spare time.
