Bells will be ringing as the Party Bus band will be playing at the annual Jingle Bell Charity Ball this Saturday.
The event, which was started by Carol Jean Cieraszynski in 2000 to benefit families at Christmas, will once again bring joy to families serviced by CAReS and raise funds for the organization's programs.
CAReS, which stands for Community Assistance and Referral Service, is a nonprofit in Ashland that “identifies, coordinates and mobilizes resources for individuals and families in emergency/crisis situations,” according to their website.
The Jingle Bell Charity Ball not only raises funds for CAReS it also collects toys for children who may otherwise have to do without.
Throughout the evening, guest will have the opportunity to enjoy live music by the Party Bus, eat some great food and enjoy some drinks at the open bar. Party goers will also be able to shop for the perfect gift for someone this holiday season at the events charity auction.
Last year, about $12,000 was used for food vouchers during the holiday season and served 314 families in need.
The Jingle Bell Charity Ball is scheduled for 7 p.m. to midnight Dec. 8 at Bluegrass RV. In addition to purchasing tickets, attendees are asked to bring a new unwrapped toy or article of clothing for a child newborn to 16.
