As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to disrupt many norms in our community, the Boyd County Public Library continues to offer in-person library hours as well as Curbside Pickup.
Curbside Pickup, offered at the Main Branch, allows patrons to reserve books using the catalog on the website at https://boydcounty.polarislibrary.com/ and pickup their materials at the library’s front entrance.
Curbside Pickup and in-person hours at the Main Branch are Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday form 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Catlettsburg Branch is open for in-person hours Wednesday through Saturday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Kyova Branch remains closed.
“This is our new normal for a while,” said Library Director Debbie Cosper. “The Curbside Pickup has been extremely successful and we will continue offer it at our new Midland Branch facility with a drive-thru service window.”
The library plans to consolidate the Kyova and Summit branches with the new Midland Branch, expected to open next year. The new 18,000-square-foot facility will offer more space, expanded features and additional materials for patrons.
Boyd County Public Library is the largest public library in Eastern Kentucky with more than 40,000 patrons and locations in Ashland (1740 Central Ave.), Catlettsburg (2704 Louisa Street) and at the Kyova Mall as well as an online branch at www.thebookplace.org.
