King’s Daughters Welcomes New Physicians

 

Allison Gilberts, M.D.

 

King’s Daughters is pleased to welcome family medicine physician Allison Gilberts, M.D., to its network of primary care providers.

   Dr. Gilberts joins Bryan Saltz, M.D., and physician assistant James Ravencraft, PA-C, at King’s Daughters Ashland Family Medicine, 2222 Winchester Ave.

   Dr. Gilberts previously practiced at Norton Community Medical Associates in Louisville, Ky. She earned her medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency at Community Hospital East, Indianapolis, Ind.

   Dr. Gilberts is board certified by the American Academy of Family Medicine.

   Family physicians deliver a range of acute, chronic and preventive medical care services. They diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries; provide preventive care, including routine checkups, health-risk assessments, immunization and screening tests; and work closely with patients to help them achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. Family physicians also manage chronic illness, coordinating care provided by other subspecialists, as necessary.

Brock Johnson, M.D.

 

Orthopedic surgeon Brock Johnson, M.D., is now seeing patients at Kings Daughter Urgent Care Grayson, 609 N. Carole Malone Blvd., and at King’s Daughters Family Care Olive Hill, 391 W. Tom T. Hall Blvd.

   Johnson earned his medical degree from the St. Louis University School of Medicine, St. Louis, Missouri and completed orthopedic surgery residency at Joan C. Edwards Marshall University School of Medicine, Huntington, W.Va. He completed sports medicine fellowship at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine, Albuquerque, N.M.

   Johnson specializes in arthroscopic surgery, including rotator cuff repairs, ACL reconstruction, meniscus surgery and joint preservation; knee, shoulder and hip replacements; endoscopic carpal tunnel release; and treatment of sports-related injuries. He also sees patients in Ashland and Portsmouth.

Annette Zacur, APRN

 

  Kings Daughters is pleased to welcome nurse practitioner Annette Zacur, APRN, to its pulmonology team.

   Zacur was previously a charge nurse in the Advanced Illness Management Unit at King’s Daughters. She joins the practice of KDMS Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, Drs. Mohamad Abul-Khoudoud, Kenneth Leung, Scott Nelson, Traci Sanchez-Vanhoose, Gregory Stark, Bjorn Thorarinsson, Chelsey White, Jeffrey Jenkins and Sabrina Roberts. The practice is located in Suite G10, 613 23rd St., Ashland.

   Zacur earned her masters of science in nursing from Walden University, Minneapolis, Minnesota, and her bachelors of science in nursing from Western Governor’s University, Salt Lake City, Utah. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
