   The Greater Ashland Beacon is a large supporter of all Shop Small and Shop Local efforts. We implore our readers to all participate in Small Business Saturday, which is recognized on November 28. This will be the 11th annual SBS. According to the Small Business Administration, last year, shoppers came together in full force to support their local communities, and Small Business Saturday hit a record high with an estimated $19.6 billion in reported spending.

   Now, more than ever, our local small businesses need our support. Due to COVID-19 many small businesses have been impacted in our community, and some have even had to close their doors permanently. The holiday might look a little different this year, but The Beacon urges shoppers to mask up, and safely get out and spread joy by shopping small and supporting our favorite small businesses and their employees all holiday season long.

   We reached out to the community and asked what local small businesses were running special promotions for the holidays and for Small Business Saturday.

   The following small businesses responded with their promotions:

   The Camayo Arcade is host to dozens of locally owned superstar stores, all with their own unique sales and promotions. Stores inside the arcade are participating, and each store can be contacted for their own special promotions. There will also be 14 direct-sales promoters set up in the hallway during their Small Business Saturday event.    Christian Alexander, located at 1505 Carter Avenue, is having store-wide promotions for Small Business Saturday with 20 to 75% off store wide. Some exclusions apply. The store will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

   Christy Morgan Photography, located in the Edge Business Center, is hosting a free session giveaway. Details can be found on the businesses Facebook page and the winner will be announced on Small Business Saturday.

   Elias Reynolds Art will be offering free shipping and 25% off all art prints for Small Business Saturday. Art prints can be ordered at

GetFiddle Custom Shop will be having a 10 to 20% off all in-stock guitar sale on Small Business Saturday, as well as live music throughout the day. The store will be open 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Gillum Drug in Ashland will be partaking in Small Business Saturday with big sales as well. The business will feature all adult masks for only $5, Tyler Candle Company 20% off, all CC Caps 50% off, 20% off Duke Cannon and extended hours until 3 p.m. The business will be giving away a free ornament with every purchase until supplies last.

  The Inner Geek, located at 104 16th Street, is having a 10% off storewide sale on Small Business Saturday.

   Melanie’s Bowtique, located inside the Camayo Arcade, will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Small Business Saturday. The store will be having a buy one item at regular price, get the second for half off promotion.

Secondhand Rose Consignment Stores will be participating in Small Business Saturday with a special promotion of 50% off all Christmas decorations.

Studio 21 is having a special promotion of purchasing $100 or more in gift cards and getting a $20 gift card free. Their November specials include a 75 minute massage for $60, a salt glow scrub and 45 minute massage for $110, a spa facial for $55, a shellac manicure for $30, a heat cure treatment for $30, a spa pedicure for $35, and 10% off product purchase with any color service.

Sweet Bee Gardens is having a special promotion on cookie trays, candy trays, and sweet trays. Price of the trays will range from $15 to $40.    Wild Paint Cut Flowers is a small, woman owned, local business in South Ashland. The business will be taking special-price pre-orders on Small Business Saturday for holiday centerpieces.    Zella Rose Boutique, located at 9724 U.S. Route 60, will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Small Business Saturday, with 20% to 50% off the entire store. The store will be giving a free gift with $100 purchase while supplies last.
