Ashlands newest wedding and event venue, The Union on Carter, is set to open at 2020 Carter Avenue in Ashland. Bill and Christy Bare, owners of multiple businesses across the tristate and beyond, such as Bombshells and Ales and Bare Arms, purchased the building in 2021 and have quickly transformed it into a location sure to attract many weddings, parties, and other events.

The building was home to multiple churches throughout the years and still keeps much of the same structure, but with a completely updated look. The main section of the building is the open area where events will be held, which also features a lofted area. A large back room has stairs that lead to a lower level that has several smaller rooms.

Christy Bare explained that for weddings, these will be used as private rooms for the bride and groom and their wedding parties. Wedding and event venues are in high demand in the Ashland area. The Ashland Transportation Center, a popular place for weddings, is already fully booked for the year and most other venues are as well. The Bares are optimistic that the Union on Carter will be a desirable new option for those planning weddings or events in Ashland.

The Union on Carter, managed by David Willey. is expected to open in March, with a few finishing touches yet to be completed. Booking information can be found at
