GIRLS 64th DISTRICT

BOYD COUNTY 62 ASHLAND 54- DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP

   Emilee Neese and Jasmine Jordan each had 18 points to lead Boyd County to a 62-54 win over Ashland in the district championship. Jordan also had a game-high 15 rebounds. Audrey Biggs and Sophia Stevens each kicked in 11.

   Kenleigh Woods led the Kittens with 18. Jaidyn Gulley tossed in 14. Ella Sellars had 10.

   Boyd County meets Lewis County in the opening round of the girl’s 16th Region Tournament on Tuesday night at 8:30 p.m. Ashland opens the event against Rowan County Monday night at 6:30 p.m.

ASHLAND 64 FAIRVIEW 12

   Gulley and Sellars each tossed in 12 to lead Ashland to a 64-12 win over Fairview.

   Mia Newton led the Eagles with seven.

   Fairview closes its season at 8-22.

GIRLS 63rd DISTRICT

RUSSELL 58 LEWIS

COUNTY 17- DISTRICT

CHAMPIONSHIP

   Russell used a blitz attack from the opening tip for a dominating 58-17 win over Lewis County in the district championship for the Devils eighth consecutive title. Bella Quinn led the way with 16 points as Russell claimed its 60th straight win over district opponents.

RUSSELL 60 RACELAND 36

   Russell overcame a sluggish first half to pull away from Raceland for a 60-36 win in the opening round of the district tournament. Shaelyn Steele led the Devils with 20 points. Quinn had 15. Josie Atkins finished with 11.

   Nim Maynard had 15 points to lead the Rams. Kennedy Taylor finished with 10.

   Raceland closes its season at 7-24.

LEWIS COUNTY 42 GREENUP COUNTY 37

   Lewis County used a fourth quarter surge to overcome another loss to Greenup County as the Lions held on for a 42-37 win in the opening round of the district tournament. Sarah Weddington led the way with 15 points for the Lions. Kaitlynn Arnold tossed in 10.

   Rachel Bush finished with 16 to lead Greenup County. Dharia Crum had 10. Emily Maynard netted six and pulled down 12 rebounds.

   Greenup County closes its season at 15-13.
