ASHLAND 5-10
Ashland went 3-3 last week at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach. Ashland defeated Cardinal O’Hara (Springfield), PA, Harlan County and Pleasure Ridge Park. The Kittens fell to Highlands, Butler, OH and Margaretta (Castalia), OH.
Jenna Delaney and Jada Erwin had a pair of hits in the Kittens 6-3 win over Cardinal O’Hara. Erwin tripled and drove in three. Erin Patrick drove in a run.
Katie Samuel doubled and drove in a run in the Kittens 7-2 loss to Highlands.
Ashland welcomes Russell Tuesday, meets Franklin County Friday and Huntington and Montgomery County Saturday as part of the Tri State Showcase.
BOYD COUNTY 11-2
Boyd County went 4-2 at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach. Boyd County defeated Saugerties, NY, Cardinal O’Hara, NY, Margaretta, OH and Pleasure Ridge Park. The Lions fell to Moore Catholic (Staten Island), NY and Letcher County Central.
Kylie Thompson went 2 for 3 to lead Boyd County to a 10-5 win over Saugerties. Savanna Henderson went 2 for 3 and drove in four with a double and triple. Kyli Kouns had a pair of doubles.
Sara Bays tossed a complete game shutout in a 7-0 win over Cardinal O’Hara. Bays struck out seven and gave up five hits. Elyn Simpkins went 3 for 4 with a double and a RBI. Emily Shivel went 3 for 3 with two doubles. Bays tripled.
Kylie Thompson worked a complete game and struck out 11 in a 9-6 win over Margaretta. Kouns had a pair of hits. Makenna Mulhearn doubled. Shivel had a triple.
Boyd County visits Mason County Monday, welcomes Lewis County Tuesday, Greenup County Thursday, Huntington Friday and Ironton Saturday as part of the Tri State Showcase.
FAIRVIEW 6-3
Fairview was idle last week.
Fairview meets West Carter Monday in the semifinals of the 16th Region All “A” Classic at Raceland, welcomes East Carter Wednesday, West Carter Thursday and a twin bill with Hannan, WV on Saturday.
63rd DISTRICT
RACELAND 8-4
Raceland went 3-2 in Ft. Walton Beach, FL at the Florida Softball Beach Bash. Raceland defeated Franklin, OH (11-1), Campbellsville (2-1) and Reavis (Burbank), IL (12-11) while suffering losses to Rootstown, OH (16-10) and South Oldham (6-4). No stats were reported.
Raceland meets Elliott County Monday in the semifinals of the 16th Region All “A” Classic. The championship will play Tuesday night at Raceland. Raceland travels to Wayne Thursday, welcomes Scott, WV Friday and meets Boyle County and Cabell Midland Saturday as part of the Tri State Showcase.
RUSSELL 6-10
Russell went 3-4 at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach. Russell defeated Mamaroneck, NY (16-13), Margaretta, OH (10-8) and Letcher County Central (4-3). Russell fell to Marian Catholic (Chicago), IL (14-0), Harlan County (12-7), Butler, OH (5-4) and LaSalle-Peru (LaSalle), IL (14-8). No stats were reported.
Russell visits Ashland Tuesday, Rowan County Wednesday, welcomes Spring Valley Friday and Franklin County and West Carter Saturday as part of the Tri State Showcase.
GREENUP COUNTY 8-6
Greenup County went 4-2 in Pigeon Forge, TN at the Cal Ripken Experience. Greenup County defeated Franklin Monroe (Pitsburg), OH, Carlisle County, Weir (Weirton), WV and Curtis (Staten Island), NY. Greenup County fell to Marlington (Alliance), OH and Union County.
Josey Kegley tossed 6.1 innings and struck out 13 to lead Greenup County to a 7-1 win over Franklin Monroe. Kennedy McCoy went 2 for 3 with a double. Adrian Wells went 2 for 4 with a double and drove in three. Kaylie Lawrence tripled.
Skyler Lawrence went 3 for 4 with a double and RBI to lead the Musketeers to a 9-6 win over Carlisle County. Kaylie Lawrence went 2 for 4 with 4RBI and a double. Kamrin Chapman added a 2RBI double.
Kaylie Lawrence worked a complete game, five inning win over Curtis, NY in an 11-1 win. She allowed only two hits and struck out seven. Adrian Wells went 3 for 3. Maddy Steele went 3 for 4 and drove in five with a triple. Madison Ross and Skyler Lawrence homered.
Greenup County welcomes Fleming County Monday, visits Mason County Tuesday for the Kentucky 2A Sectional, visits Boyd County Thursday, plays Highlands at Russell Thursday and Sacred Heart Saturday at East Carter as a part of the Tri State Showcase.
