If you are looking for something fun and exciting to do on New Year’s Eve, head on down to the Delta Marriott, which is conveniently located at 1401 Winchester Ave., on Sunday, Dec. 31, 2023, between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. and check out The Neighborhood’s 9th Annual Bourbon Ball. Jeremy Holbrook, Director of The Neighborhood, shared, “This event will feature signature foods from The Winchester Restaurant, including filet mignon and heavy hors d'oeuvres, premium Kentucky Bourbons, select wines (as well as an open bar all night).  With a DJ keeping the energy flowing on the dance floor in the conference space, live musicians in the 3Js Guitar Bar, a featured silent auction, wine pull, and other entertaining events throughout the evening- there's no doubt that we are striving to continually be the premium New Year's Eve Event in the tri-state.”

This year the Bourbon Ball will feature select tastings from the Savage Farms Winery located in Louisa and Pauley Hollow Distillery located in Pikeville. “We are really excited to feature signature Appalachian-made beverages at this year’s event,” noted Holbrook.

Over a decade ago, The Wine & Bourbon Ball originated as a collaboration between The Neighborhood and The United Way of Northeast Kentucky. The fundraiser became the primary source of annual financial support, which helped The Neighborhood operate as a rent-free-facility for our partnering agencies Ashland Community Kitchen, CAReS, River Cities Harvest, The Dressing Room, Clean Start, Pathways, and Community Action (55+ mature worker program).

The funds from this event will continue the tradition of benefit and support to The Neighborhood and its partnering agencies for facility needs and day-to-day operations.

In 2023 alone, agencies of The Neighborhood have served over 20,000 individuals- providing over 400,000 services that totaled over $3,818,189 of assistance. An excited Holbrook shared, “Although the financial assistance has seen a significant increase since 2022, I am actually really happy that our total number of helped individuals has decreased--as our true measurement of success is the number of our guests that grow to no longer need our services. In 2024, one of our major focuses will be helping our clients become employable through a workforce-ready program that features soft-skill development classes, financial literacy classes, and partnerships with local businesses and organizations to help prepare individuals for local jobs and careers.”

The Wine and Bourbon Ball is the perfect way to celebrate the significant growth and impact that The Neighborhood has accomplished in 2023. Let’s make a toast and welcome 2024 as a new opportunity to help our community's at-risk, in-need, and displaced citizens find stability and new opportunities toward healthy and authentic growth. Reservations can be made now by visiting The Neighborhood’s website: www.TheNeighborhood-Ashland.org. Tickets can be purchased for one person, or bring a few friends and reserve an entire table. Either way, you can’t go wrong because not only is this event sure to be a fun and memorable way to bring in the new year, but you will also be supporting a great organization that helps our community on a daily basis.
