In celebration of culture and culinary diversity, Las Palmas Abarrotes, a new Mexican grocery store, located at 2116 13th St, has officially opened its doors in Ashland. The vibrant and welcoming establishment promises to bring a taste of Mexico to our local community.
With shelves stocked with a wide array of authentic Mexican ingredients, spices, and other tastes of Mexico, Las Palmas Abarrotes aims to cater to both Mexican expatriates and locals eager to explore the rich and diverse world of authentic Mexican cuisine. From traditional salsas and tortillas to unique spices and imported goods, this unique storefront offers a one-stop shop for those seeking an authentic culinary experience.
German Flores, owner of Las Palmas Abarrotes shared, “We realized that we have a lot of Latin people around here, and anytime any of us need to find good quality Mexican ingredients, we have to go out of town to different places such as Lexington, Cincinnati, or Columbus. So, we decided that we needed to bring the taste of Mexico a little closer to home. That’s why we chose to open our storefront in Ashland.”
Las Palmas Abarrotes emphasizes its commitment to quality, freshness, and community engagements. The owner prides himself on being able to foster a space where customers can not only purchase ingredients but also connect with the rich cultural heritage behind each product. One of the ways Flores accomplishes this is not only by bringing the largest selection of authentic Mexican groceries to our area but also making sure to bring pieces of home to our area for our families to enjoy. Besides groceries, Las Palmas Abarrotes also offers some of the most beautiful pottery cookware. “Our pots come all the way from Mexico, and they are all handmade. We also have handcrafted mortal and pedestals,” shared Flores.
As I found myself walking through the aisles of what is quite possibly the most unique grocery store that I have ever set foot it, I was simply amazed by the wide variety of drinks, spices, and snacks. Las Palmas Abarrotes is sure to become everyone’s favorite go-to place for the best authentic Mexican ingredients and groceries. They are open seven days a week:
Monday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
