ASHLAND 24-6
Ashland went 1-1 this week with a win over GRC and a loss to Montgomery County.
Ashland fell to Montgomery, 68-60. Ella Sellars dropped 30 in the loss. Jaidyn Gulley added 11.
Ashland bounced back with a 58-52, overtime win over #2 George Rogers Clark. Gabby Karle and Sellars each had 14. Aryanna Gulley had 10.
Ashland Coach Stacy Davis was named the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches’ 16th Region Coach of the Year.
Ashland awaits the winner of Boyd County and Fairview in the 64th District Championship on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
BOYD COUNTY 21-9
Boyd went 1-1 this week with a win over Rowan County and a loss to Russell.
Boyd fell to Russell, 69-46. Jasmine Jordan led the Lions with 27 points and 15 rebounds.
Boyd bounced back with a 67-48 win over Rowan. Jordan went off for 35 points and 20 rebounds while surpassing 1,000 career rebounds in the win. Jada Ray added 11 points. Audrey Biggs had 10.
Boyd meets Fairview in the opening round of the 64th District Tournament Monday night at 7 p.m. Boyd defeated Fairview, 63-21 on Jan. 23.
FAIRVIEW 4-23
Fairview went 0-3 this week with losses to Bath County, Adams County Christian, WV and Raceland.
Madison Caskey hit 3 of 5 triples and led the Lady Eagles with 10 points against Adams County. Marista Tackett tossed in 9 and Bre Moore 7.
Fairview meets Boyd County Monday at 7 p.m. in the opening round of the 64th District Tournament.
63rd DISTRICT
RUSSELL 22-6
Russell closed the regular season with a 69-46 win over Boyd County. Bella Quinn led the way with 20 points while going 5 of 9 from long range. Shaelyn Steele added 17 and grabbed 12 rebounds. Steele was named the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches’ 16th Region Player of the Year.
Russell meets Greenup County Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in the opening round of the 63rd District Tournament. Russell won both regular season meetings over Greenup with a 59-24 win at home and 60-26 win in Lloyd.
RACELAND 14-15
Raceland went 2-1 this week with wins over Fairview and Prestonsburg and a loss to Elliott County.
Raceland fell to Elliott, 54-46. Carley Boyd had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Kennedy Taylor added 12 points and 13 rebounds. Nim Maynard netted 12.
Raceland defeated Fairview, 60-10 and Prestonsburg, 56-51. No stats were reported in the wins.
Raceland meets Lewis County in the opening round of the 63rd District Tournament Tuesday night at 8 p.m. The Rams defeated the Lions in both meetings with a 55-31 win at home and a 47-33 win in Vanceburg.
GREENUP COUNTY 13-17
Greenup went 2-0 this week with wins at East and West Carter.
Greenup defeated East, 53-43. Dharia Crum led the Musketeers with 23 points. Maddy Steele tallied 10 points and 12 rebounds.
Greenup held off West, 39-35. No stats were reported.
Greenup meets Russell Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in the opening round of the 63rd District tournament. Greenup fell in both regular season meetings, losing 59-24 at Russell and 60-26 at home.
