GIRLS 64th DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

 

CHAMPIONSHIP

 

ASHLAND 68 BOYD COUNTY 49

Ashland completed the season sweep over Boyd County with a 68-49 win over the Lady Lions in the district championship. 

Kenleigh Woods led the Kittens with 24 points. Ella Sellars finished with 18 points. Gabby Karle kicked in 12. Jasmine Jordan led the Lions with 28 points and was the only player to score in double figures. 

Ashland meets Rowan County Monday night at 6:30 p.m. in the opening round of the 16th Region Tournament. Boyd County meets Morgan County Tuesday night at 6:30 p.m.

OPENING ROUND

 

BOYD COUNTY 56 FAIRIVEW 12

Boyd County rolled to a 56-12 win over Fairview to advance to the district championship. 

Jada Ray had 20 points while going 6 of 7 from downtown. Baylee Stephens added 10. 

Madison Caskey led the Eagles with seven points. 

Fairview closes its season at 4-24. 

GIRLS 63rd DISTRICT TOURNAMENT

RUSSELL 71 RACELAND 26

Russell’s performance was nothing less than dominant in a 71-26 victory over Raceland for the Devils ninth consecutive district championship. 

Shaelyn Steele netted 19 of her game-high 27 points in the first quarter and Bella Quinn and Bethany Allen each added 10 points. Nim Maynard led the Rams with 12 points in the loss. 

Russell meets Elliott County Monday night at 8 p.m. in the opening round of the 16th Region Tournament. Raceland meets Fleming County Tuesday night at 8 p.m.

RUSSELL 62 GREENUP 26

Russell wasted little time punching its ticket to the district championship in a 61-26, running clock victory over Greenup. 

Steele led the Devils with 14 points. Gabby Oborne added 13. Quinn had 12. Bella Stith led the Musketeers with eight points. 

Greenup County closes its season at 13-18. 

RACELAND 55 LEWIS COUNTY 20

The Rams used a suffocating defensive attack to oust the Lions, 55-20. 

Maynard led the Rams with 18 points. Mikenna Lacks added 11.
