ASHLAND 61 BOYD COUNTY 47
Ashland made it six in a row after defeating Boyd County, 61-47 in the championship.
Zander Carter and Nate Freize led the Tomcats with 16 points. Asher Adkins kicked in 12. Braxton Jennings added 10 including eight in the first quarter. Boyd County led for 33 seconds in the contest after taking a 2-0 lead to open the contest. Cole Hicks led the Lions with 16 points. Jacob Spurlock kicked in 12.
Ashland moves on to Rupp Arena and will meet Region 2 Champion Lyon County on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.
SEMIFINALS
BOYD COUNTY 65 ROWAN COUNTY 57
Boyd County closed the contest on an 8-0 run to hold off Rowan County, 65-57 in the region semifinals.
Jason Ellis led the Lions with 19 points and went 7 of 7 from the field. Griffin Taylor added 18. Jacob Spurlock had 10.
ASHLAND 52 FLEMING COUNTY 45
Ashland held off a final surge from Fleming County to avenge a regular season loss to the Panthers in Flemingsburg with a 52-45 win to advance to their seventh consecutive regional championship.
Zander Carter led the Tomcats with 23 points. Asher Adkins kicked in 11. Nate Freize finished with eight points and 12 rebounds, including a three at the horn to end the third quarter.
