64th DISTRICT

 

ASHLAND 1-1

Ashland has started 1-1 on the season with a win over Elliott County, 9-1 and a 14-4 loss to Johnson Central. 

Grace Delaney, Jenna Delaney and Ashley Ingram each had a pair of hits in the win over Elliott. Grace Delaney had two doubles and Jenna added another while driving in three. Addi Laine worked seven innings from the circle, striking out 11 while allowing one unearned run. 

Jenna Delaney doubled and drove in a run in the loss to Johnson Central. Alauna Troxler, Riley Harmon, Ingram and Laine each singled. 

Ashland welcomes Bath County Monday, visits Russell Tuesday and South Webster, OH Thursday.

 

 

BOYD COUNTY  1-4

Boyd County has started the season 1-4 with a win over Russell and losses to Pike County Central, Rowan County and a twin bill to Portsmouth Notre Dame.

Boyd opened the season with a 5-2 loss to Pike County Central. Jadyn Goad had two hits in the loss. Savanna Henderson drove in two with a home run. 

Boyd knocked off Russell, 3-2. Grace Stephens went 3 for 4 with a double. 

Boyd fell 9-8 in eight innings in the second contest with Portsmouth Notre Dame. Elyn Simpkins went 3 for 4 with a double. Henderson also doubled. Simpkins took the loss while working the distance in the circle while giving up eight runs, six earned on eight hits. 

Boyd welcomed Fairview Monday, visits East Carter Tuesday and welcomes Spring Valley Thursday.

FAIRVIEW 5-1

Fairview went 3-1 this week with wins over Grace Christian and Hannan, WV and a loss to West Carter. 

Fairview fell to West Carter, 9-8. Sydney Johnson went 3 for 4 with 2RBI. Madison Loving went 2 for 4 with a home run, double and 4RBI. Bre Moore homered as well.

Fairview bounced back with a 12-3 win over Grace Christian. Six players had two hits each. Moore and Loving each doubled. Annabelle Menshouse went the distance, giving up three unearned runs on one hit and struck out 11. 

Fairview defeated Hannan, 18-0 and 21-0, both in three innings. Kailyn Adkins had two doubles and drove in three. Menshouse doubled and drove in six while tossing a no hitter in the second game. She also homered in game one. 

Fairview visits Boyd Monday, welcomes Tolsia Tuesday, visits Elliott County Wednesday, Prestonsburg Friday and a twin bill at Phelps Saturday. 

63rd DISTRICT

 

RACELAND 5-0

Raceland went 3-0 this week with wins over Lewis County, 15-5 in six innings, a 15-0 four inning win over West Carter in the All “A” Classic Championship and 14-0 win over Wayne. 

Kali Vance went 4 for 4 with two homers and 5RBI in the district win over Lewis County. Lillian Poplin went 2 for 2 with a double and drove in four. Davanna Grubb homered and drove in three while working all six in the circle. She struck out eight and allowed three hits. 

Raceland welcomes Russell Monday, visits Chesapeake Wednesday and welcomes Greenup Thursday.

RUSSELL 3-2

Russell went 2-1 this week with wins over Bath County and Pike County Central, 9-5 and a loss to Boyd, 3-2. 

Russell defeated Bath County, 7-3. Paige Hutchinson went 3 for 4 while missing a home run for the cycle. Ava Howard and Karson Honaker each had two hits. Audrey Patel doubled while earning the win from the circle. She struck out seven. 

Russell visits Raceland Monday, welcomes Ashland Tuesday and visits South Point Thursday.

GREENUP COUNTY 1-2

Greenup is 1-2 on the season with a 21-4 win over Fleming County and losses to Lawrence County, 20-1 and Johnson Central, 9-5. No stats were reported. 

Greenup County fired Mike Diller after the first game of the season for an undisclosed reason. Jaclyn Holmes has assumed the head coaching position. 

Greenup visits Portsmouth West Tuesday, Raceland Thursday and plays in the CSI Lady Cat Invitational at Bath County on Friday and Saturday.
