64th DISTRICT

 

ASHLAND 0-3

Ashland has started its season 0-3 with losses to Rowan, Paintsville and Cabell Midland. 

Ashland fell to Rowan, 11-4, Parker Church led the way with two hits and drove in a run. Brady Marushi singled and drove in two. Drew Kelley worked four innings while giving up only three runs. 

Ashland fell to Paintsville, 5-3. Marushi went 3 for 4 with a double. Kelley added two hits. LJ Murphy worked four innings of relief, allowing only two hits and one unearned run. 

Ashland fell to Cabell Midland, 7-1. Church, Murphy and Marushi had the only three hits in the contest. Marushi homered. 

Ashland visits Huntington Monday, welcomes Fairview Tuesday and visits East Carter and Greenup County Wednesday and Thursday.

BOYD COUNTY 6-1

Boyd County has started its season 6-1 and went 4-0 this week with wins over Greenup County, Cabell Midland, Johnson Central and Wolfe County. 

Boyd knocked off Greenup, 20-10 in five innings. Brogan Jones and Ryan Brown each had four hits. Jones doubled three times and drove in six. Brown added a pair of doubles. JK McKnight had three hits and drove in a run. Grant Slater and Peyton Jackson had two hits each. 

Boyd knocked off Midland, 3-1. Brown and Jones had two hits each. Jackson tossed four innings of scoreless ball, giving up two hits and striking out three. 

Boyd defeated Johnson Central, 7-0 and Wolfe County, 14-4 in six innings. 

Boyd welcomes Ironton Tuesday and visits South Point Thursday.

FAIRVIEW 3-4

Fairview went 2-2 this week with wins over Menifee County in the All “A” Classic and Holmes in the Keith Prater Invitational and losses to Raceland and Fleming County. 

Fairview run-ruled Menifee, 15-0 in three innings. Izaac Johnson, Tanner Reihs and Jace Manning each had two hits. Reihs and Johnson doubled. Eli Cummings tossed a no-hitter while striking out six. 

Fairview defeated Holmes, 10-0 in five innings. Xavien Kouns and Cummings each had a pair of hits. Kouns doubled and tripled and drove in two. Cummings had a pair of singles and drove in a pair. Tamel Smith had a 3RBI double. Manning went the distance while giving up one hit and striking out 11. 

Fairview fell to Raceland, 15-0 and Fleming, 14-2. 

Fairview visits Ashland Tuesday, welcomes West Carter Thursday and Morgan County Saturday. 

63RD DISTRICT

 

RACELAND 7-0

Raceland went 4-0 this week with wins over West Carter and Fairview in the All “A” Classic as well as East Carter and Huntington, 5-1. 

Raceland defeated West Carter, 11-1 in five innings. Michael Pennington tripled and drove in two. Zane Bailey doubled. Kadin Shore worked four innings allowing only one run on two hits while striking out 10. 

Landon Bloss dispatched Fairview in four innings, 15-0. He gave up only two hits in the shutout. Connor Thacker went yard and drove in four. Eli Lynd and Bailey had three hits each, both doubling while Lynd had a triple. 

Raceland defeated East Carter, 7-3. Bailey led the way with 2RBI. Brayden Webb and Parker Ison drove in a run. 

Raceland welcomes Fairland Tuesday, Coal Grove Wednesday visits Wayne Thursday and welcomes Buffalo Friday. 

RUSSELL 1-6

Russell went 0-3 this week with losses to East Carter, Rowan County and Franklin County. 

Russell fell to East Carter, 10-6. Parker Mitchell went 3 for 3. Jayden Frasure went 2 for 3. Kyle Mokas drove in two. Elijah Hankins worked four innings in the loss, giving up two unearned runs while striking out four. 

Russell fell to Rowan, 3-2 and Franklin County, 11-3 in the Keith Prater Invitational. No stats were reported.

Russell welcomes Ironton Wednesday, Johnson Central Friday and Belfry on Saturday. 

GREENUP COUNTY 1-6

Greenup County went 0-4 this week with losses to Boyd County, Bath County, Madison Central and West Jessamine. 

Greenup fell to Boyd, 20-10 in five innings. Cohen Underwood led the Musketeers with three hits and 2RBI. Colin Alexander doubled. Gavin Roy doubled and drove in four. 

Greenup lost 3-1 to Bath in the Kentucky 2A Sectional. Matthew Boggs and Gage Gullett had the only two hits for the Musketeers. 

Greenup fell 11-1 to Madison Central and 8-1 to West Jessamine in the Madison Central Invitational. No stats were reported. 

Greenup welcomes Fleming Monday, visits Rowan Tuesday and welcomes Ashland Thursday.
