64th DISTRICT

 

ASHLAND 1-11

 

The Tomcats picked up their first win of the season during their trip to Myrtle Beach last week at the Cal Ripken Experience. Ashland went 1-5 for the week with the only win coming against Buckhannon Upshur 8-6. Gage Millette went 2 for 2 with an RBI and a run scored. Brady Marushi scored three runs and Austin Blevins twice. L J Murphy struck out four and allowed five earned runs in 6.1 innings. Kaiden West closed out the game facing two batters and striking one for the save.

Parker Church had three hits and scored three times in a 9-8 loss to Halifax County. Sam Lyons knocked in two runs.

Ashland faced Raceland Monday night, host Greenup County Tuesday, at Rowan County Wednesday and Bath County Friday and returns home Saturday to face Montgomery County. 

BOYD COUNTY 12-2

The Lions went 5-1 in Vero Beach Florida last week with the only loss coming to Bullitt East 8-4. 

Ryan Brown knocked in four runs on three hits in the Lions 14-3 win over Scott County. Boyd County pounded out 20 hits. Peyton Jackson struck out six and allowed only one earn run on the mound. 

Isaac Leeper limited Valley View to only four hits while striking out five in five innings to earn the victory in Boyd County’s 12-2 win. Brown and J K McKnight each drove in three runs. The Lions also had seven stolen bases. 

Boyd County picked up wins over South Oldham, Christian Academy and Dayton Christian. 

The Lions will host Fairview Thursday, and then travel to Tates Creek Friday and two games Saturday against Paul Laurence Dunbar and Lexington Catholic. 

FAIRVIEW 4-6

 

Fairview opened the week with a 13-0 five inning win over Grace Christian before dropping a tough 3-2 decision to Belfry. 

Jeffery Everetts had two hits including a triple with three RBIs and two runs scored against Grace. Jace Manning knocked in two and scored twice. Eli Cummings struck out five and allowed only two hits in the shutout win. 

Tanner Reihs struck out nine and gave up three hits and no earned runs in seven innings but it wasn’t enough as Fairview was no hit in a 3-2 setback to Belfry. 

Fairview was at Tolsia Monday, at home Tuesday against Symmes Valley, at Boyd County Thursday and host Bath County Saturday. 

63RD DISTRICT

 

RACELAND 14-1

The Rams were 3-1 last week in Myrtle Beach including their first loss of the season 10-6 to Patrick County, Va. Raceland picked up wins over Livonia, NY 11-0 in five innings, Penn Yan Academy 8-2 and George Walton Academy 13-4. 

Parker Fannin knocked in four runs on three hits including a triple in the win over Livonia. Connor Thacker added two RBIs. Bryer Parsons struck out four and allowed only two hits in the five-inning shutout. 

Raceland faced Ashland Monday night, at Fleming County Tuesday, Rowan County and Scott Saturday.

RUSSELL 2-12

Russell dropped all four games in Myrtle Beach at the Cal Ripken Experience. The Devils opened the week with a 6-5 setback to North Laurel followed by losses to Harbor Creek 2-0, St. Vincent/St. Mary 5-4 and Maumee, Ohio 12-2, No stats were reported.

Russell will be at South Point Tuesday, Johnson Central Wednesday, at home Thursday against Mason County, and at the Citizens Bank Classic Saturday to face Breathitt County and Floyd Central.

GREENUP COUNTY  3-11

Greenup County went to Florida on a two-game winning streak but dropped all five games and fell to 3-11 on the season. 

The Musketeers opened the week with a 10-6 loss to Christian Academy followed by losses to DeSales 18-5, Walsingham Academy 10-0, Bullitt East 4-1 and Lancaster, NY 17-11. No stats were reported.

Greenup County will be at Ashland Tuesday and Beechwood Friday.
