ASHLAND 14-13

 

Ashland went 2-2 this week with wins over Greenup County and Central Hardin and losses to East Carter and Pulaski County. 

 

Ashland fell to East Carter, 5-2. Alauna Troxler and Brookelyn Duckwyler had the lone hits for the Kittens. Aubrey Foster drove in a run. 

 

Ashland bounced back with an 8-7 win over Greenup. Duckwyler led the way with three hits including a double and triple and drove in a run. Troxler also doubled and tripled. Addi Laine tripled and drove in two. Riley Harmon and Grace Delaney each doubled. 

 

Ashland welcome West Carter Monday, visits Lawrence County Tuesday, welcome Raceland Thursday and closes the regular season with a visit from Russell Friday. 

 

BOYD COUNTY 16-17

 

Boyd County went 1-4 this week with a win over Tates Creek and losses to Raceland, Rowan County, Harrison County and Highlands. 

 

Boyd fell to Raceland, 6-3. Jadyn Goad, Gracie Gilbert, Jaycie Goad and Elyn Simpkins accounted for the four Lions hits. Gilbert and Jaycie Goad doubled. 

 

Boyd fell to Rowan, 7-2. Jadyn Goad and Grace Stephens had a pair of hits in the loss. Jaycie Goad doubled. 

 

Boyd took a 10-4 win over Tates Creek. Elise Sparks and Jadyn Goad had three hits each. Brooke Jacobs drove in two runs. 

 

Boyd visits Lawrence County Monday, Johnson Central Thursday and closes the regular season at East Carter Friday. 

 

FAIRVIEW 17-11

 

Fairview went 2-1 this week with wins over Cross Lanes Christian and Prestonsburg and a loss to Paintsville. 

 

Fairview knocked off Cross Lanes Christian, 4-3. Zoe Grant went 3 for 5 in the win. Sydney Johnson, Kailyn Adkins and Jayla Kouns each had a pair of hits. 

 

Fairview fell to Paintsville, 5-1. Annabelle Menshouse and Johnson tallied the lone Eagles hits. 

 

Fairview closed its regular season with a 12-2 win in five innings over Prestonsburg. Adkins went 4 for 4 with 2RBI. Johnson finished 3 for 4 with an RBI. Grant had three hits and drove in three. Menshouse also had three hits. 

 

Fairview’s next contest will be on May 20th against Ashland in the opening round of the 64th District Tournament. 

 

63rd DISTRICT

 

RACELAND 26-8

 

Raceland went 2-1 this week with wins over Boyd County and Lewis County and a 10-0 loss to Johnson Central. 

 

Lilly Poplin launched a grand slam for her second hit of the night to lift Raceland past Boyd, 6-3. Bryna Wellman and Davanna Grubb had a pair of hits. Grubb homered. 

 

Raceland overcame a 6-3 deficit after four innings to Lewis County by scoring 20 unanswered runs in the fifth and sixth to take a 23-6 victory. Wellman went 4 for 5 with a double and homer. Poplin blasted a three-run shot in the fifth while driving in five runs in the contest. Shelby Gauze and Peyton Mackie had three hits. 

 

Raceland welcomes East Carter Monday and visits Ashland Thursday to close the regular season. 

 

RUSSELL 17-9

 

Russell defeated East Carter, 5-1 in their only contest this week. No stats were reported. 

 

Russell welcomes Lewis County Monday, visits Fleming County Tuesday, Mason County Thursday and closes the regular season Friday at Ashland. 

 

GREENUP COUNTY 17-7

 

Greenup County went 0-2 this week with losses to Ashland, 8-7 and Portsmouth Notre Dame, 8-0. 

 

Maddy Steele’s RBI single, Addison Branim’s  sacrifice fly and Charleigh Grayson’s run scoring single  gave Greenup an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, The Lady Musketeers took a 5-4 lead into the seventh but Ashland scored four runs for an 8-7 win. Skyler Lawrence hit a home run. 

 

Greenup welcomes Rowan County Monday, Mason County Tuesday and closes the regular season with Elliott County Thursday.

64th DISTRICT

 

ASHLAND 6-22-1

 

Ashland played to a 9-9 tie with Russell this week and fell 9-0 to Ironton. 

 

The game with Russell was halted in the 10th inning due to rain and was unable to be resumed. Brady Marushi led the Tomcats with four hits including a double, home run and 3RBI. Parker Church, LJ Murphy and Drew Kelley added two hits each. Kelley and Gage Millette doubled. 

 

Ashland welcomes Lewis County Monday, East Carter Wednesday, Raceland Thursday and visits Paintsville Friday to close out the regular season. 

 

BOYD COUNTY 26-3

 

Boyd County went 3-0 this week with wins over Covington Holy Cross, 11-0 in five innings, Dixie Heights, 4-1 and Covington Catholic, 5-1. No stats were reported. 

 

Boyd visits Rowan County Monday, welcomes Prestonsburg Wednesday and closed the regular season with a visit from East Carter Friday. 

 

FAIRVIEW 15-12

 

Fairview picked up a 10-2 win over Martin County in their only game of the week. Tanner Reihs tossed a complete game while allowing two runs on four hits and striking out eight. Izaac Johnson went 2 for 4 with 2RBI. Eli Cummings and Jace Manning doubled in the win. 

 

Fairview visits Green, OH Monday, Greenup County Tuesday, welcomes Green Thursday and closes the regular season with a trip to Bath County Friday. 

 

63RD DISTRICT

 

RACELAND 25-6

 

Raceland went 1-1 this week with a win over Bath County and a loss to Lawrence County. 

 

Raceland fell 4-3 to Lawrence County. Kadin Shore provided a double and triple and drove in a run in the loss. 

 

Raceland bounced back with a 2-0 win over Bath County. Brayden Webb tossed a complete game while allowing only two hits and striking out 11. Eli Lynd went 2 for 3 and drove in a run. 

 

Raceland welcomes Fairland Monday, visits East Carter Tuesday and Ashland Thursday.

 

RUSSELL 9-20-1

 

Russell ended in a 9-9 tie with Ashland and fell to South Point, 11-6. 

 

Russell’s contest with Ashland was halted in the 10th inning due to rain but was unable to be resumed. Parker Mitchell, Kyle Mokas, Caden Mitchell and Jayden Frasure each had two hits. Elijah Hankins, Mokas, Mitchell and Frasure doubled. 

 

Russell visits East Carter Monday, Ironton Tuesday, welcome Mason County Wednesday and closes the regular season with a trip to Fleming County Friday. 

 

GREENUP COUNTY 12-20

 

Greenup County went 3-1 this week with wins over South Webster, 2-1, Symmes Valley, 12-2 and West Carter, 11-0 and a 17-2 loss to East Carter. No stats were reported. 

 

Greenup plays Breathitt County Monday at Morehead State, welcome Fairview Tuesday and Rowan County Wednesday.

ASHLAND 6-17

Ashland went 3-2 this week with a pair of wins over Fairview and a 9-6 win over Lewis County while falling to Spring Valley and Boyd County, 14-1 in five innings. 

Ashland was held to only two hits in a 12-0 loss to Spring Valley in five innings. Pierce Wamsley and Brady Marushi had the two hits. 

Ashland bounced back with an 8-7 win over Fairview. LJ Murphy went 2 for 3 with a double. Drew Kelley doubled and drove in two and Austin Blevins added a triple. Zane Ingram worked five innings of shutout relief while allowing only two hits and striking out four. 

Ashland welcomes Lawrence County Monday, visits Spring Valley Wednesday, plays Pikeville Saturday at Boyd County and travels to Cabell Midland Saturday.

 

BOYD COUNTY 21-3

Boyd County went 3-0 this week with wins over Huntington, Ashland and Raceland, 5-2. 

Boyd knocked off Huntington, 9-1. Ryan Brown went 4 for 5 with 2RBI. Alex Martin and Peyton Jackson added two hits each. Martin doubled and Jackson tripled. Jackson took the win from the bump with four innings of shutout baseball, allowing only one hit and striking out eight. 

Boyd hammered Ashland 14-1 in five innings. Brown went 3 for 4 with 3RBI. Grant Slater, JK McKnight, Josh Kelley, Martin and Jackson each added two hits. Slater doubled. McKnight drove in three and earned the win from the bump while allowing one hit over three innings. He struck out seven. 

Boyd visits Lawrence County Tuesday, welcomes Spring Valley and George Washington, WV Friday and Lexington Catholic Saturday.

FAIRVIEW 11-12

Fairview went 2-3 this week with wins over Grace Christian and Martin County and losses to Ashland and Portsmouth Notre Dame.

Jeffery Everetts went 4 for 5 with 2RBI and drove in two in the Eagles 18-7 win over Grace Christian. Tamel Smith, Eli Cummings and Jace Manning added two hits. Izaac Johnson drove in four with a double. Carson Smith took the win working four innings of one-hit ball, allowing no earned runs and struck out seven. 

Fairview fell to Ashland, 8-7. Austin Pack, Tevin Smith and Everetts each had two hits. Pack had a pair of doubles and drove in two. Tamel Smith added a double in his lone hit. 

Blake Hall and Xavien Kouns had two hits each in the 8-5 loss to Notre Dame. 

Johnson went 3 for 4 with a double in the 6-4 loss to Ashland. Tanner Reihs added a triple. 

Fairview closed the week with a 10-5 win over Martin County. Manning went 3 for 4 with a double. Kouns, Pack, Reihs, Tevin Smith and Tamel Smith each added two hits. Pack doubled and Reihs tripled. Johnson earned the win from the bump, working 6 2/3 innings while striking out six. 

Fairview visits Huntington St. Joe Monday, West Carter Wednesday, South Point Thursday and welcomes Lewis County Saturday. 

63RD DISTRICT

 

RACELAND 21-4

Raceland went 3-1 this week with a pair of wins over Greenup County, Portsmouth West and a loss to Boyd County. 

Raceland erased a 6-0 deficit to earned a 7-6, eight inning win over Greenup. Parker Fannin led the way with two hits. Michael Pennington had a bases-clearing triple. Brayden Webb launched a solo home run. Brigham Davidson took the win, working three innings in relief while allowing only one earned run and three hits. 

Raceland hammered Greenup in Game 2, 17-3. Parker Ison went 3 for 5 with a double and 3RBI. Webb launched a grand slam. Eli Lynd went 3 for 4 with a double. Fannin homered in his only hit to open the contest. Kadin Shore worked four innings in the win, allowing two hits and no earned runs. 

Raceland blanked Portsmouth West, 15-0 in four innings. Sam Lynd, Carson Bowden, Zane Bailey, Fannin and Pennington had two hits each. Fannin drove in three. Bailey tripled. Connor Thacker added a double while earning the win from the bump. 

Raceland fell 5-2 to Boyd. Landon Bloss and Shore each had two hits. Ison and Eli Lynd drove in a run. 

Raceland welcomes Russell Monday, visits Russell Tuesday, welcomes Huntington Friday and visits Tates Creek Saturday.

RUSSELL 7-17

Russell went 2-2 this week with wins over Lewis County and Morgan County, 8-7 and losses to Lewis and Spring Valley, 10-0. 

Russell fell to Lewis, 8-7, in nine innings. Elijah Hankins went 3 for 6 with an RBI double. Caden Mitchell drove in four and doubled. Jayden Frasure tripled. 

Russell bounced back with a 5-1 win in Game 2. Kyle Mokas tossed a complete game while allowing six hits and struck out nine. Mokas, Frasure, Mitchell, Hankins and Nick Adams each had two hits. Adams doubled. Hankins had a triple. 

Russell visits Raceland Monday, welcomes Raceland Tuesday, Morgan County Thursday and plays Paintsville Saturday.  

GREENUP COUNTY 6-16

Greenup went 0-2 this week with a pair of losses to Raceland. 

Greenup fell to Raceland, 7-6 in eight innings. Hunter Holbrook led the way with two hits including a double. Gavin Roy, Matthew Boggs and Colin Alexander also doubled. Kasey Gammon worked seven innings, allowing six runs—only two earned and struck out two. 

Colin Alexander was 1 for 3 with a RBI  in the 17-3 loss to Raceland. 

Greenup welcomes Lewis Monday and visits Lewis Tuesday.

ASHLAND 9-10

Ashland went 1-2 this week with a win over Boyd and losses to Johnson Central and Pike County Central. 

Ashland defeated Boyd, 3-1. Brookelyn Duckwyler and Jenna Delaney each went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Duckwyler homered. Riley Harmon went the distance while allowing four hits and one run in the win. 

Ashland fell 9-7 to Johnson Central. Ashley Ingram, Alauna Troxler, Delaney and Duckwyler each had two hits. Delaney, Duckwyler and Troxler each doubled. Delaney and Addi Laine drove in a pair of runs. 

Ashland fell 3-1 to Pike County Central. Grace Delaney went 2 for 3 with a double. 

Ashland visits Fairview Monday, Wheelersburg Wednesday, welcomes Fairview Friday and plays Frederick Douglass and Anderson County Saturday.

BOYD COUNTY 14-13

Boyd went 1-2 this week with a win over Fairview and losses to Ashland and Lincoln County, WV. 

Boyd throttled Fairview, 17-5 in five innings. Gracie Gilbert, Jadyn Goad and Brooke Jacobs each had three hits. Jacobs homered and drove in four. Gilbert and Goad doubled. Savanna Henderson added a home run and drove in three. Brooke Jacobs took the win in the circle, allowing five runs—only one earned on five hits while striking out seven. 

Boyd fell to Ashland, 3-1. Myla Hamilton launched a solo home run in the loss. 

Boyd lost 9-4 to Lincoln Co. Hamilton and Elyn Simpkins went 3 for 4. Hamilton tripled. Kyli Kouns had a double. 

Boyd welcomes Russell Tuesday, visits Cabell Midland Friday and welcomes Lincoln County, WV Saturday.

FAIRVIEW 14-7

Fairview went 2-2 this week with wins over New Boston, OH and Morgan County and losses to Boyd and Elliott County.

Fairview fell to Boyd, 17-5 in five innings. Annabelle Menshouse went 2 for 3 with an RBI. Kailyn Adkins drove in two. 

Fairview fell to Elliott, 14-11. Madison Loving went 4 for 4 with 2RBI and a double. Zoe Grant, Marista Tackett and Adkins each had three hits. All three drove in two. 

Fairview bounced back with a 12-3 win over New Boston. Menshouse went 3 for 4 with three doubles and 5RBI. Adkins also had three hits with a double. Bre Moore connected on a pair of doubles. Menshouse earned the win from the circle, allowing five hits and struck out 14. 

Fairview closed the week with a 13-2, five inning win over Morgan. Menshouse went 4 for 4 and struck out 11 in the win while allowing only two hits. Both runs allowed were unearned. Adkins went 3 for 4 with a double. Loving doubled and drove in three. 

Fairview welcomes Ashland Monday, visits East Carter Tuesday, welcomes Tolsia, WV Wednesday, visits Ashland Friday and New Boston Saturday.

63rd DISTRICT

 

RACELAND 22-5

Raceland went 3-3 this week with wins over Chesapeake, Somerset (9-1) and Covington Holy Cross (6-2) with losses to Fleming, Hancock County and Livingston County, (both 1-0). 

Raceland fell to Fleming County, 8-2. Bryna Wellman went 3 for 4. Lilly Poplin was 2 for 3.


Raceland defeated Chesapeake, 10-3. Wellman went 3 for 4 with a double. Kali Vance was 2 for 4 with a double and home run. Davanna Grubb also homered. Jill Riffe went the distance in the circle, allowing four hits and three runs—none earned while striking out six. 

The remainder of Raceland’s contests came as part of the All “A” State Tournament. The Rams went 2-1 in pool play and fell in the opening game in the consolation bracket. 

Raceland visits Greenup Tuesday and welcomes Williamstown Saturday for a twin bill. 

RUSSELL 15-6

Russell went 1-2 this week with an 11-8 win over Bath County, a 6-5, nine inning loss to Greenup and a 5-0 shutout loss to Ironton. 

Lili Smith went 3 for 4 and drove in two with a double in the win over Bath. Reese Cameron, Ella Watson, Ava Howard and Karson Honaker each added two hits. Howard and Honaker tripled. Audrey Patel launched a solo home run. 

No stats were reported in the losses. 

Russell visits Lewis County Monday, Boyd Tuesday, welcomes Portsmouth West Thursday and visits South Webster Friday. 

GREENUP COUNTY 15-4

Greenup went 2-0 this week with wins over Lewis and Russell.

Greenup defeated Lewis, 4-3 in 10 innings. Charleigh Grayson went 2 for 4 with an RBI and Addison Branim went 2 for 3. Skyler Lawrence delivered a two-run homer. 

Greenup knocked off Russell, 6-5 in nine innings. Adrian Wells went 2 for 4 with a double. Maddy Steele was 2 for 4 with 4RBI. Grayson provided a pair of doubles. Josey Kegler went the distance, allowing five runs on five hits and struck out 10.

Greenup welcomes Raceland Tuesday, visits Lewis Thursday, East Carter Friday and welcomes Portsmouth Notre Dame Saturday.

ASHLAND 3-15

Ashland went 0-3 last week with losses to Boyd County, Russell and Hurricane, WV. 

Ashland fell 12-2 to Boyd in five innings. LJ Murphy, Brady Marushi and Drew Kelley had the three Tomcats hits. 

Ashland lost 7-2 to Russell. Sam Lyons, Murphy and Kelley had the three Ashland hits. 

Ashland fell 10-0 to Hurricane. No stats were reported. 

Ashland welcomes Spring Valley Monday, visits Fairview Tuesday, welcomes Boyd Thursday, Fairview Friday and travels to Lewis Saturday.

BOYD COUNTY 18-3

Boyd went 4-1 this week with wins over Ashland, Fairview, Greenup and Cabell Midland (4-1) and a 3-2 loss to East Carter. 

Boyd dropped Ashland 12-2 in five innings. Josh Kelley, JK McKnight and Grant Slater each had a pair of hits. Brogan Jones, Kelley and Slater doubled in the win. McKnight homered and drove in four. Peyton Jackson worked four innings, allowing only two hits and struck out nine. 

Boyd blanked Fairview, 10-0 in five. McKnight paced the Lions with three hits and drove in four. Jacob Vanover had a pair of hits. 

Boyd upended Greenup, 16-3 in six innings. McKnight was 4 for 4 with a double and RBI. Ryan Brown went 2 for 4 with 3RBI. Jones was 2 for 2 with 3RBI. McKnight worked four innings from the bump, allowing only one hit and struck out eight. 

Boyd visits Huntington Monday, Ashland Thursday and welcomes Raceland Saturday.

FAIRVIEW 9-9

Fairview went 2-2 this week with wins over West Carter and Morgan County and losses to Boyd County and South Point. 

Fairview defeated West Carter, 9-4. Izaac Johnson worked 6 2/3 innings while allowing only two hits and striking out 11. Xavien Kouns, Tamel Smith, Jace Manning and Austin Pack each had two hits. Smith drove in three. Pack added two. 

Fairview fell 10-0 to Boyd. The Eagles had five hits, all singles but could not plate a run. 

Fairview took down Morgan, 6-5. Eli Cummings led the Eagles with a hit and RBI. Austin Pack drove in two. Kouns doubled. Jeffery Everetts tripled. Manning worked 6 1/3 innings, allowing only two earned runs and striking out 10. 

Fairview fell 14-4 to South Point. Kouns went 2 for 3 with 2RBI. 

Fairview welcomes Grace Christian Monday, Ashland Tuesday, visits Portsmouth Notre Dame Thursday, Ashland Friday and welcomes Martin County Saturday.

63RD DISTRICT

 

RACELAND 18-3

Raceland went 2-1 this week with a pair of district wins over Lewis County and a 7-3 loss to Pikeville in the All “A” Sectional. 

Raceland claimed a 4-1 win in Game 1 with Lewis. Bryer Parsons tossed a complete game while allowing one run on three hits and striking out six. Parker Fannin went 2 for 3 with a triple and RBI. Eli Lynd doubled. 

Raceland outdueled Lewis in Game 2, 10-6. Connor Thacker went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and 3RBI. Parker Ison added a double. Brayden Webb doubled and launched a solo home run. 

Raceland welcomes Greenup County Monday, visits Greenup Tuesday, welcomes Portsmouth West Friday and visits Boyd Saturday. 

RUSSELL 5-15

Russell went 1-2 this week with wins over Greenup and Ashland and a loss to Greenup in the district opener. 

Russell fell 9-3 to Greenup. Kyle Mokas and Avery Lother went 2 for 4. Caden Mitchell doubled. 

Russell bounced back with a 5-0 win over Greenup. Mokas tossed a complete game shutout, allowing only six hits and struck out four. Mokas led the Devils at the plate with a 3 for 4 outing behind a double. Lother doubled and drove in two. 

Russell knocked off Ashland, 7-2. Lother worked 5 2/3 innings of two hit ball while giving up no runs and striking out eight. Elijah Hankins went 3 for 4. Parker Mitchell drove in two. Mokas added an RBI double. 

Russell visits Lewis County Monday, welcomes Lewis Tuesday, heads to Spring Valley Friday and Morgan County Saturday.

GREENUP COUNTY 6-14

Greenup County went 2-2 this week with a split with Russell, 9-3 win and 5-0 loss, a 16-3 loss to Boyd and a 9-4 win over Portsmouth West. 

The Musketeers broke open a 3-3 tie against Russell with 5 runs in the fifth inning and added on a run in the sixth for a 9-3 win. Every Greenup County hitter reached base led by Colin Alexander with a single, double and a home run. Kasey Gammon pitched five strong innings and Luke Boggs struck our four of the seven batters he faced in relief.

Greenup visits Raceland Monday and welcomes Raceland Tuesday.
