Frances M. Dixon
Frances M. Dixon, 68, of Ashland, widow of Michael T. Dixon died Monday morning, February 15 at Kings Daughters Medical Center.
Fran was born December 5, 1952 in Boyd County, Kentucky; daughter of the late James E. and Betty S. Dyer Houck.
She is survived by a daughter, Tracy Dutton of Lexington, and two sons, Shaun Greene (Stephanie) of Ashland, and Ryan Dixon of Ashland; two sisters: Vicki Frye (Dan) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and Becky Perkins (Danny) of Ashland, as well as a brother, Steve Houck (Linda) of Greenup. She was grandmother to four grandchildren: Rett (Cassidy), Morgan, Allie, and Luke, and three great grandchildren: Juniper, Henry, and River.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, February 24 at 1 p.m. at Preston Family Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation is Wednesday from noon until service time.
Norris Nash, Sr.
Norris Gene Nash, Sr. 86, of Huntington, West Virginia, died peacefully at his residence, on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
He was born May 10, 1934, in Burnaugh, Kentucky, a son of the late James and Magnolia Cooper Nash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Rhoda Crofton.
Norris was a graduate of Douglas High School and Cabell County Career Technology Center. At a young age, Norris worked as a nighttime Cameraman at W.H.T.N. He went on to retire following a long career as an Electrician at Marathon. He served honorably in the United States Army. Norris was a licensed pilot and enjoyed many years of flying in his spare time.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 67 years, Gloria Mae Mundy Nash of Huntington; daughter, Robin Nash of Huntington; son, Norris Nash, Jr. and wife, Barbara of Ft. Worth, TX; grandchildren, La”Shana Nash, Eddie “Bear” Thomas and Norris Nash III; six great grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
A private graveside service will be held at Ashland Cemetery.

Tracy York, a social worker and resident of Florence, Kentucky, died after a brief illness on Saturday, February 13, 2021.
Tracy was the daughter of the late Ronald Tamme and living mother, Ronda Tamme. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Christopher Long and Matt Long; several nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; three close cousins; three grandchildren; two sisters and one uncle.
Tracy was born on January 1, 1971. She graduated from Boyd County High School in 1989 and received her bachelor’s degree from Morehead State University in 1998. She was a social worker from 1998 to 2021.
Tracy was a Christian, a devoted daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed her grandbabies, reading, kayaking, and her 15-year-old dog, Charlie. She will be greatly missed.
A private service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel with Pastor Joed Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Burial Park.

William Frank Layman
William Frank Layman, 80, passed away Friday, February 12, 2021.
He was born September 13, 1940 in Ashland, a son of the late Benjamin Frank and Flora Layman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann; brother, James Anford Kazee; and a sister, Isabell Songer.
Bill retired following a 40-year career with the City of Ashland and attended Wildwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his brother, Charles Robert (Sharon) Layman of Ashland; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, at Ashland Cemetery.

Robert Leo Stowe, III
Robert Leo Stowe, III, 67, of Ashland, passed away at his residence on Monday, February 15, 2021.
He was born November 9, 1953, in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Robert Leo Stowe, Jr. and Elizabeth Kneer Stowe.
Robert was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Ashland. He graduated from Holy Family Catholic School and Ashland Vocational School. He worked as a Draftsman at Calgon Corp., briefly at Walmart and was currently employed with Kroger Fuel Center.
Those left to cherish his memory include his siblings, Carol Ann Stowe Hood (Joseph), James Patrick Stowe (Deb), Kathy Lee Stowe (Ann), Mary Elizabeth Stowe Columbus (James), and Michael Kneer Stowe (Catherine); two nephews, nine nieces, four grand nephews, two grand nieces; and a host of extended family members and dear friends.
A private entombment was held at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum.

Thelma Lorraine Johnson Keeton, 80, of Ashland, went to be with her Lord Sunday morning, February 14, 2020, at her residence.
She was born on March 25, 1940, in Ashland, KY, a daughter of the late Frederick and Drusilla Elizabeth Bailey Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Freda Ann Farrow in 2012.
Thelma was a proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in 1957, and attended Ashland Community College. She was a lifelong member of the Historic St. James A.M.E. Church, where she faithfully served in the following capacities: Secretary, Treasurer; Pro-Tem of the Steward Board; Missionary Society, and Choir. She worked in the catalog department at Penny's, and worked for over 25 years at PNC, serving in numerous capacities at the bank, retiring in 2002 as a Banking Officer.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 61 years, James E. Keeton, Jr., her children, daughter Lori Keeton (James) Johnson, sons James E.(Candy) Keeton III; of Lexington, KY, and Frederick (Charity) Keeton of Nicholasville, KY; grandchildren, Whitney Johnson (Keaton) Young, Austin K. Johnson, both of Lexington, KY, and Trajan K. Keeton of Nicholasville, KY.
Additional survivors include niece Marsha Johnson (Dan) Underwood of Galloway, Ohio, and a host of extended family members and friends.
A private funeral services will be held with the Reverend Leonard Curry officiating.

Stella Jane Willis
Stella Jane Willis 86, widow of James O. Willis passed away on Thursday, February 18. Stella has lived in Lawrence County, Ohio for most of her life, and was an active member of the Coal Grove Memorial United Methodist Church where she served as church Treasurer and Church Sunday School Teacher for many years.
Stella is the daughter of the late Mabel G. Murdock Fuller and Irvin Rex Fuller. Siblings who also preceded her in passing are Irvin Rex Fuller Il, Audrey M. Fuller and Marcella J. Fuller. Stella's surviving sister is Jean butler, and brother-in-law, Douglas (Karen) Willis.
Graduating from Dawson-Bryant High School in 1951, and working for a time, she married Jim and they moved to Cheyenne while he was in the Air Force. Stella Jane has made a home for her children whose names are: Kimberly (Mike) Whitman, Victor B. (Debra) Willis, Jim R. (Nazym) Willis, and Benjamin C. (Shawna) Willis; grandchildren, Kia (Cale) Jensen, Christopher L. (Abi) Willis, Eric J. Willis, Jordan O. Willis, Mary (Scott) Brown, Bekkah (John) Sheetz, Daryn Willis, Ryan M.(Heather) Whitman, Zachary F. Willis, Summer L Whitman and Abbey G. Willis. In addition to three nephews, Don (Patty) Butler, Andrew (Laura) Willis and Matthew (Michele) Willis, and one niece, Sonja Wheelis, Stella has 13 great-grandchildren as well as extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
Stella enjoyed singing in the church choir and in the Ashland 3 Arts Club. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution chapter in Ironton and sketched many pictures of her ancestors before cell phones were around to snap pictures.
The family greatly thanks Morning Pointe of Russell and Community Hospice of Ashland for making her journey loving and comfortable. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Coal Grove Memorial United Methodist Church, 222 Memorial Street, Coal Grove, OH 45638.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 25, 2021 at the Coal Grove Memorial United Methodist Church by Rev. Dr. Vic Willis. Public visitation is at the church from 10 -11 before the service. There will be live streaming on the church's facebook page as well. Steen Funeral Home of Ashland is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jerry Allen Hicks, Jr.
Jerry Hicks, 43, of Ashland. died Saturday, February 13, at University of Kentucky Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Allen Hicks, and brother Kenneth Allen Hicks.
Surviving include his mother: Robin Justice Hicks of Ashland; sister Beth Ann Potter and husband Josh, of Ashland, and Jerry adored his seven nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 23 at 12 p.m. at Preston Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time.
