AIM Needs Volunteers

Morgan Hall

The Ashland Beacon

Ashland in Motion is a nonprofit organization that is primarily dedicated to the economic growth of downtown Ashland, specifically the area now known as The District. The District can be defined as Greenup to Carter Avenue, from 14th to 18th Streets.

In an effort to promote small business in the area, Ashland in Motions puts on various events throughout the year. These events encourage people to visit our beautiful downtown area. Typically, they do first Fridays from April through October, where they feature local talented artists. They usually do Firkin Fest the weekend of Father’s Day, Brunch and Browse on Small Business Saturday in November and the Gravy Bowl in February. All of these events involve sponsorship and volunteers to help set up and break down the day of the event. Therefore, volunteers are the lifeblood of Ashland in Motion.

Elizabeth Hensley, Director of Strategic Communication, and Executive Director Holly Stone, just started in April of 2021 and they’re working diligently to bring a strong volunteer base to their organization for any upcoming events. They need more people to come out and help them, as this is a massive undertaking. More help is always appreciated, either from organizations or willing individual community members.

If anyone is interested in volunteering with this organization, they will welcome you with open arms. They want to be able to channel that generosity toward growing Ashland’s economic growth.

If you’re 18 or older, please contact Ashland in Motion for volunteer opportunities. Please note Firkin Fest volunteers must be at least 21 years of age.
