64th District Softball



   Boyd County went 2-0 this week with a 12-7 win over Ashland in the district championship and a 15-1 win over Morgan County in the 16th Region Tournament and will face Lewis County tonight.

   Kylie Thompson worked five innings in relief while striking out four and allowing only one hit in the win over Ashland. Makenna Mulhearn and Jaycee Goad each had a pair of hits. Both Goad hits were home runs and she drove in four. Mulhearn doubled. 

   Sara Bays limited Morgan County to only one hit over five innings as the Lions punched their ticket into Monday’s semifinals against Lewis County. Boyd County racked up 15 hits led by Kyli Kouns 3 for 3 at the plate. The Lions catcher tripled and drove in three. Emily Shivel, Goad and Bays each had a pair of hits. Shivel doubled. 



   Ashland went 1-2 this week with a 7-4 win over Fairview in the 64th District Tournament, a 12-7 loss to Boyd County in the championship and an 8-7 loss to East Carter in the opening round of the 16th Regional Tournament. 

   Ashland racked up 12 hits in the win over Fairview. Brookelyn Duckwyler had a pair of doubles and drove in three. Alauna Troxler and Maddie Kersey each doubled as well. 

   Aubrey McCreary and Jada Erwin had a pair of hits each in the loss to Boyd County. McCreary doubled and both drove in a run. 



   Fairview closed its season with a 7-4 loss to Ashland in the district tournament. Jordan Rakes went 3 for 3 with a double and two RBIs in the losing effort. Annabelle Menshouse drove in two with a single. 


63rd District Softball



   Raceland went 2-1 this week with a 12-9 win over Greenup County in the district tournament, a 5-0 loss to Lewis County in the district championship and a 7-6 win over Bath County in the 16th Region Tournament. 

   Raceland outslugged Greenup County to advance to the district title game with 12 runs on 12 hits. Kaitlin Kartchner went 3 for 4 and drove in a run. Makenzie Bradley had two of the Rams five doubles and drove in two. 

   Raceland was held to only three singles in the loss to Lewis County in the district title game. Makena Francis, Davanna Grubb and Kali Vance tallied the Rams hits. 

   Raceland will meet East Carter tonight in the 16th Region Tournament semifinals. 



   Russell closed the season with a 3-1 loss to Lewis County. Audrey Patel allowed three runs on seven hits while striking out eight. Lili Smith went 2 for 3. Allyson Rulen drove in the lone Russell run. 



   Greenup County closed its season with a loss to Raceland in the district tournament. Of the 12 runs surrendered by Greenup County pitching, only three were earned. Greenup County tallied seven hits in the game with Skyler and Kaylie Lawrence both doubling.
