A new hub for cheer and tumbling enthusiasts is set to open its doors in Boyd County this November. Airborne Tumbling and Cheer, located at 5312 State Route 5 in Ashland, promises to be a transformative space for children and young adults eager to learn, grow, and excel in the art of cheerleading.

Jamie Perry, the founder of Airborne Tumbling and Cheer, brings more than 16 years of experience in cheerleading and tumbling. “I was a self-taught tumbler when I started for years,” Perry shared. “Now that I’m in a position to offer cheerleading at an affordable rate, I can’t wait to offer the best training with the most passion around.”

Perry’s mission is clear: to create a welcoming environment free from the politics often found in competitive cheer settings. “It’s going to be a fair gym with no politics. Be good to others, do good to others. Plain and simple! We are a drama-free zone,” she emphasized. Every child will have the opportunity to learn and grow, regardless of their experience level.

Airborne Tumbling and Cheer is designed to accommodate a wide age range, welcoming participants from as young as 18 months to 18 years old, with potential adult classes if there’s enough interest. Perry is especially proud of her commitment to inclusivity, planning to offer a special class for children with disabilities. This class will be free for participants, requiring only a nominal annual registration fee of $25 to cover liability and insurance.

“I think it is important for every child to have the opportunity to be involved regardless of their special abilities,” Perry noted. This dedication to accessibility highlights her desire to give back to the community and ensure that everyone can experience the joys of cheerleading.

Perry is thrilled to announce a brand-new class designed specifically for individuals with disabilities, giving them the chance to experience the excitement and benefits of cheerleading! This inclusive class is absolutely free for all interested participants; you only need to pay a nominal yearly registration fee of $25, which covers liability and insurance.

“I believe it’s vital for every child to have the opportunity to get involved, no matter their unique abilities,” Perry emphasized. “Join us and be part of this empowering experience!”

Cheerleading is more than just a sport; it offers countless benefits that contribute to a child's development. Through cheer, children can build confidence, learn teamwork, and develop physical skills that promote a healthy lifestyle. The discipline required in cheerleading can also foster a strong work ethic and resilience – qualities that will serve them well throughout their lives.

Perry believes that the memories and friendships formed in cheerleading can be transformative. “I want every child that is interested in cheer to be able to look back on their childhood and have the amazing memories that cheer has provided me with over the years,” she reflected.

Having served in the Army Reserves for several years, Perry understands the importance of discipline and commitment. This background informs her approach to coaching and her vision for Airborne Tumbling and Cheer as a supportive, structured environment.

With her focus on affordability, Perry aims to make cheerleading accessible to families in Boyd County and surrounding areas. “Opening up this gym is something I’ve always wanted to do. I love cheer and I wanted to give back to our community,” she shared.

As Airborne Tumbling and Cheer prepares for its grand opening, Jamie Perry invites the community to join in the excitement. With a commitment to quality training, inclusivity, and a supportive environment, Airborne Tumbling and Cheer is set to become a cornerstone of cheerleading in the Boyd County area.
