64th DISTRICT

 

ASHLAND 2-1

Ashland opened the season with a pair of wins over Huntington and Lawrence County and a 16-6 loss to Cabell Midland.

 

Ashland defeated Huntington, 13-9. Brady Marushi went 4 for 4 in the win with a double, home run and 2RBI. Drew Kelley and Parker Church each went 2 for 3. Kelley doubled and drove in a run. Church drove in a pair. LJ Murphy added a 3RBI triple in the win.

 

Ashland knocked off Lawrence, 5-1. Murphy had an RBI triple. Marushi kicked in an RBI double. Caden Church worked five innings from the bump while allowing one hit and striking out nine.

 

Ashland welcomes Lewis County Monday, Rowan County Tuesday and Greenup County Thursday.

 

BOYD COUNTY 2-1

Boyd County opened the season with wins over Lawrence and Pikeville, 4-1 and a 12-3 loss to Sayre.

 

Boyd defeated Lawrence, 4-3. Alex Maynard went 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI. Brogan Jones drove in two runs including the walk-off hit and Conner Davis added another RBI. Brayden Nunley took the win in relief, working four innings while allowing only one hit and striking out six.

 

Boyd visits Greenup Tuesday.

 

FAIRVIEW 1-1

 

Fairview opened the season with a win over West Carter and a loss to Russell.

 

The Eagles knocked off West Carter, 12-9. Tanner Reihs and Tevin Smith each collected three hits. Reihs had 2RBI and Smith drove in another. Xavien Kouns went 2 for 4 with 2RBI.

 

Fairview fell to Russell, 11-1 in five innings. Jeffery Everetts had the lone Eagles hit.

 

Fairview meets Elliott County Monday in the opening round of the All “A” Classic and visits East Carter Friday.

 

63rd DISTRICT

 

GREENUP COUNTY 2-2

 

Greenup started the season with a pair of wins over West Carter and Huntington, 10-5 and a pair of losses to Lexington Catholic, 12-2 and GRC, 10-1.

 

Greenup started the season with a 7-1 win over West Carter. Gavin Roy drove in three with a double in the win. Ty Logan added a 3RBI triple.

 

Greenup welcomes Boyd Tuesday and visits Ashland Thursday.

 

RACELAND 1-1

 

Raceland opened the season with a 14-4 win over East Carter in five innings and a 2-1 loss to Cabell Midland. Kaden Shore homered in the win over East and Bryer Parsons picked up the win in relief.

 

Raceland plays in the All “A” Classic semifinals Tuesday and welcomes Fairland on Friday.

 

RUSSELL 3-0

 

Russell started the season with wins over Fairview, East Carter, 14-3 and Shelby Valley, 13-4.

 

Russell defeated Fairview, 11-1 in five innings. Kyle Mokas tossed a one hitter while striking out nine in the win. Mokas also led the Devils with three hits including a home run. Hayden Mcguire went 2 for 2 with a triple and two driven in. Lokeilo Ancheta went 2 for 3 with 2RBI. Gunnar Hignite drove in two as well.

 

Russell welcomes Lawrence County Monday, visits Morgan County Friday and meets Model and Rowan County Saturday at Rowan County as part of the Keith Prater Invitational.
