Boys’ Soccer Recap 9/17/24

ASHLAND 3-6-2

 

Ashland went 1-1 this week with a 3-1 win over Boyd County and a 4-1 loss to East Carter.

 

Silas Pierzala netted the lone goal off a Dean Young assist as Ashland fell to East Carter. Maxx Brown had six saves in the losing effort.

 

Landon Alfaro Guerrero, Troy Barnett and Pierzala found the back of the net in Ashland’s district win over Boyd. Tyson Griffith and Barnett added assists.

 

Ashland welcomes Bath County Thursday.

 

BOYD COUNTY 4-5

 

Boyd went 1-2 this week with a 3-0 win over Pikeville and losses to Russell, 2-1 and Ashland, 3-1.

 

Cameron Stanton had the lone goal in the loss to Russell. Logan Bradley had six saves.

 

Bryson Rowsey netted a goal off a Caleb Clark assist in the district loss to Ashland. Bradley had eight saves.

 

Ryan Crank, Joseph Blankenship and Conner Davis had goals in the win over Pikeville. Eli Simpkins had a pair of assists and Ethan Crum added another. Bradley had four saves in the net in the shutout win.

 

Boyd welcomes West Carter Tuesday, South Point Thursday and Minford Saturday.

 

RUSSELL 6-6

 

Russell went 1-1 this week with a 2-1 win over Boyd and a 5-0 loss to Hurricane, WV.

 

Brylee Mullins and Ben Totten had the goals in the win over Boyd. Trey Evans added an assist. Hayden Barlow had four saves in the net.

 

Russell welcomes Lawrence County Tuesday, visits Ashland Thursday and Frederick Douglass Saturday.

 

GREENUP COUNTY 1-7

 

Greenup fell to West Carter, 7-2. Brantley Snider and Elijah Beach had the Musketeers goals.

 

Greenup welcomes Johnson Central Monday.
