64th DISTRICT

 

ASHLAND 2-0

Ashland opened the season with wins over Raceland and Bath County.

 

Ashland defeated Raceland, 16-5 in six innings. Ashland played long ball in the win over Raceland with homeruns from Brookelyn Duckwyler, Zoey Smith and Jenna Delaney. Smith led the Kittens with 6RBI while adding a double. Ashley Ingram and Duckwyler each had three hits. Addi Laine earned the win from the circle.

 

Ashland knocked off Bath County, 7-4. Riley Harmon went 2 for 3 with one of three Ashland home runs. Delaney and Laine each homered in the win. Duckwyler kicked in a double.

 

Ashland visits Greenup Monday, welcomes Spring Valley Tuesday and visits Coal Grove Thursday.

 

BOYD COUNTY 2-1

Boyd started the season with a pair of wins over East Carter and Russell followed by a loss to Greenup.

 

Boyd outslugged East Carter, 24-12 to open the season. Boyd smashed four homeruns in the win. Savanna Henderson, Brooke Jacobs, Grace Stephens and Myla Hamilton went yard. Elyn Simpkins led the Lions with 7RBI behind two doubles. Henderson and Hamilton drove in four. Kyli Kouns and Simpkins tacked on triples.

 

Boyd knocked off Russell, 12-1 in five innings. Jadyn Goad led the way with a 3 for 3 day at the dish. Jacobs drove in three. Addison Miller and Kouns added 2RBI each.

 

Boyd fell to Greenup, 12-1. Simpkins and Kouns tallied the only Lions hits in the loss.

 

Boyd visits Johnson Central Monday.

 

FAIRVIEW 2-0

 

Fairview opened the season with a pair of wins over Buckhorn, 9-6 and 16-1 in three innings.

 

Kylie Parks and Madison Loving had two hits each and drove in a pair in the first game. Kailyn Adkins and Bre Moore doubled.

 

Olivia Meade, Loving and Adkins tripled in Game 2. Loving and Adkins drove in four each. Meade had 3RBI while going 3 for 3 at the plate.

 

Fairview visits Huntington St. Joe Monday, plays a twin bill at Tolsia, WV Wednesday, visits Hannan, WV Thursday and Menifee County Friday.

 

63rd DISTRICT

 

GREENUP COUNTY 3-0

Greenup opened the season with wins over Elliott County, Boyd County and Menifee County.

 

Greenup dumped Elliott, 14-0 in five innings. Maddy Steele led the Musketeers with a double and triple. Josey Kegley drove in three while going 3 for 4 at the dish. Khloe Warnock, Addison Branim and Adrian Wells drove in two. Kegley spun up a perfect game over five innings while striking out 11.

 

Greenup defeated Boyd, 12-1. Kegley allowed two hits while fanning nine. Jaylen Cooper and Branim each collected three hits. Cooper had a pair of doubles and drove in two. Branim tripled. Charleigh Grayson drove in three. Maddy Steele launched a two-run shot.

 

Greenup defeated Menifee County, 27-0 in three innings. Branim went 4 for 4 with two doubles and 4RBI. Wells had three hits and drove in three. Steele went 3 for 3 with a double, homer and 5RBI. Cooper tossed the no-hitter in the win.

 

Greenup welcomes Ashland Monday, visits Portsmouth Notre Dame Tuesday and Russell Thursday.

 

RACELAND 2-1

 

Raceland opened the season with a loss to Ashland but rolled off wins over Spring Valley and Riverside, WV, 24-4 in three innings.

 

Raceland fell to Ashland, 16-5 in six innings. Kali Vance had the lone extra base hit for the Rams with a double. Carly Fannin drove in two.

 

Raceland defeated Spring Valley, 21-6. Baylee Burney, Peyton Mackie, Shelby Gauze, Lilly Poplin and Fannin each doubled. Fannin drove in three. Mackie, Gauze and Allison McMackin drove in two.

 

Raceland welcomes Fairland Wednesday and visits Rock Hill Thursday.

 

RUSSELL 1-2

 

Russell opened the season with losses to Lawrence County and Boyd County, 12-1 in five innings followed by a win over Pike County Central, 8-3.

 

Bella Hall went 2 for 3 in the loss to Lawrence County. Gabby Oborne had the other Russell hit.

 

Russell welcomes Lewis County Monday, Coal Gove Tuesday and Greenup on Thursday.
