Girl’s Soccer Recap for September 10, 2024

ASHLAND 4-1-1

Ashland defeated West Carter, 6-0 in their only contest this week. Kenleigh Woods netted five goals and added an assist before suffering a season ending injury while scoring her fifth goal of the night. Meisha Salisbury netted a goal and added an assist. Kylee Fields and Sarah Hicks assisted on goals. Mallorie Caudill worked a shutout in the net while tallying five saves.

 

Ashland welcomes East Carter Tuesday, visits Boyd County Thursday and Montgomery County Saturday.

 








BOYD COUNTY 7-2

Boyd County went 1-1 this week with a win over Russell and a loss to Estill County in penalty kicks.

 

Boyd fell to Estill, 2-1 on kicks from the mark. Aubree Moore netted the lone Lions goal. Alexis Boyd had the assist. Sophia Stevens had four saves in the net.

 

Stephens tallied a shutout in a 2-0 win over Russell. She had eight saves in the net. Faith Burnside scored both Lions goals. Moore assisted on both.

Boyd welcomes Ashland Thursday and Pikeville Saturday.

 



RUSSELL 3-4

Russell went 0-3 this week with losses to Minford (5-1), Boyd County (2-0) and Frederick Douglass (7-0). Ava Barker had the lone Russell goal in the loss to Minford. Gabrielle Williams had 19 saves in the net.

 

Russell welcomes Fleming County Monday and visits Belfry Saturday.

 













GREENUP COUNTY 2-8

Greenup went 0-2 this week with losses to Lawrence County (2-0) and Morgan County (4-1).

 

Greenup visits Paintsville Monday, welcomes West Carter Thursday and Prestonsburg Saturday.
