It’s not every day that you hear about a player throwing two no-hitters in a single season, but for Josey Kegley, that’s just the beginning of a story filled with determination, grit, and heart. The young pitcher for the Lady Musketeers is dominating the mound this year, and her performance has caught the attention of fans and coaches alike. With two no-hitters already under her belt and the season still in its early stages, there’s no telling just how far this rising star will go.

       So, what’s driving Josey to bring such fire to the game? We got the chance to chat with her after another big win, and her answer was refreshingly simple: “I just quit being nervous, relaxed, and started throwing the ball.” While that might sound like a straightforward approach, it’s clear that there’s much more going on beneath the surface.

       Josey’s mother, Lindsey, has a slightly different perspective. According to her, it’s not just about relaxing—it’s about the relentless work that goes on behind the scenes. “She works her tail off. Everybody will be in the pool having fun… and she’ll be off practicing with her dad,” Lindsey said, highlighting the dedication that sets Josey apart. Whether it’s perfecting her technique or honing her mental game, Josey’s commitment to her craft is undeniable.

       But perhaps the biggest factor contributing to her stellar season is her health. Last year, Josey was forced to face one of the toughest challenges of her young athletic career: a fractured vertebrae that left her sidelined for much of the season. Missing preseason conditioning and workouts, she had to work her way back to full strength. Fast forward to this year, and Josey is fully healthy, feeling great, and ready to dominate. “I’m having fun, and I feel really good,” she shared, a testament to the power of perseverance and recovery.

       For Josey, this season isn’t just about individual achievements—it’s about chasing her dream of playing at the collegiate level. And she’s not doing it alone. With her mom cheering her on from the sidelines and a solid support system in place, Josey is on a mission to show the world what she’s capable of. “She’s getting looks… and she’s motivated to put in the work to make it happen,” Lindsey shared. It’s clear that Josey has big plans for her future, and with her work ethic and talent, there’s little doubt she’ll achieve them.

       The excitement surrounding Josey’s success isn’t just limited to her. The entire Lady Musketeer softball team is having a phenomenal season, and the energy surrounding them is palpable. Josey even took a moment to express her gratitude for the growing support of their team. “There’s been more people and bigger crowds, and it makes a difference. It makes us even more excited to play,” she said. The enthusiastic fans who show up week after week are fueling the team’s success, and it’s clear that the Lady Musketeers are feeding off that energy.

       Josey’s story is one of triumph over adversity, hard work, and a love for the game that shines through every pitch. As she continues to turn heads on the mound, one thing is certain—there’s a lot more to come from this young pitcher.
