With summer coming to an end, kids, parents, and teachers all around are preparing for the beginning of a new school year. Weather it’s back to school shopping or simply getting back in the swing of things … kids and parents alike a scurrying to get everything in order for the long awaited first day back. Teachers are busy preparing lesson plans and decorating their classrooms. For some the start of a new school year brings with it a familiar sense of routine … for others the start of a new school year brings with it many new changes.
Rose Hill Christian School is excited for what the upcoming school year will bring with it and even more excited to welcome David Greene as the schools new Principal. Greene is a graduate of Paul G. Blazer High School’s class of 1992. He earned his Undergrad from Marshall University and later went on to Morehead State University to finish his degree in education. He has been an educator for over 27 years and is excited to start off his 28th year as Rose Hill’s newest Principal.
Greene is very excited about what this upcoming year will bring and is eager to get started and welcome the students at Rose Hill Christian School on their first day of school, which is still a little over three weeks away. “I’m a people person. I love being around people and I love celebrating their success. I love watching students grow and improve. I love watching the process in classrooms between teachers and students. I’ve just always been a school guy. I love the busyness of the day and I being around other people.” Greene shared.
Greene comes with quite an impressive background in the world of education. Having been in education for nearly 28 years, Greene has had the opportunity to see countless changes within the education system. From changes in curriculum to new and innovative classes being added … Greene has a unique perspective on what it takes to keep a school flowing the way it should.
Speaking of changes … This year Rose Hill Christian School is excited to be partnering with one of the most recognized names in Christian Education: Liberty University. Juniors and Seniors can earn dual credit through our highly qualified on-site teachers and choose from many electives and dual credit courses through Liberty Online Academy. “This new partnership with Liberty University is something I am really excited about. It’s going to be a real game changer here at Rose Hill.” shared Greene.
Offering high school classes, dual credit courses, and college courses through Liberty University will be great way for Rose Hill Christian to stay true to its vision. “Our vision is simple … we want to be able to point our students and our community to Jesus. When people think of Rose Hill Christian School, we want them to associate the school with being able to offer its students a good solid foundation in Christian education.” Green noted.
One of the things that makes Rose Hill Christian School stand out from other schools is the schools small class sizes. The classrooms at Rose have an eleven to one ratio. Rose Hill’s graduates have been accepted into over 30 Universities across the United States. their students have received $3,500,000 in college scholarships in the past five years alone.
