Ashland has started the season 4-0 with straight set wins over Raceland, Shelby Valley, Paintsville and Pikeville. No stats were reported in the wins.
Ashland welcomes Rose Hill Monday and visits Russell Tuesday.
BOYD COUNTY 0-1
Boyd County fell to Rowan County, 3-2 in their only game this season. Lilah Thornbury led the Lions with 17 kills. Payton Jones added 12. Hallie Barnett tallied nine kills and four blocks.
Boyd visits Lewis County Monday, Wayne, WV Tuesday and welcomes Raceland Thursday.
FAIRVIEW 2-1
Fairview went 2-1 this week with wins over Menifee County and Rose Hill and a straight set loss to Lawrence County.
Fairview dumped Menifee County, 3-0. Makenzi Slone and Madison Loving paced the Eagles with 10 kills each.
Fairview knocked off Rose Hill, 3-0. Slone had 15 kills. Loving added 11 along with six aces.
Fairview fell to Lawrence, 3-0. Slone had nine kills in the loss.
Fairview visits West Carter Tuesday and East Carter Thursday.
ROSE HILL 0-2
Rose Hill fell in both contests this week, 3-1 to Lawrence County and 3-0 to Fairview. No stats were reported.
Rose Hill visits Ashland Monday and play Huntington St. Joe and Man, WV on Tuesday.
63rd DISTRICT
GREENUP COUNTY 3-0
Greenup County opened the season with three straight wins, knocking off East and West Carter and a big district win over Russell.
Greenup defeated West Carter, 3-0. Peyton Powell and Kaylee Braden each had eight kills. Powell added nine aces.
Greenup dispatched East Carter, 3-0. Braden had 10 kills. Powell turned in seven kills and seven aces.
Greenup dropped Russell, 3-1. Powell led the way with 17 kills and six blocks. Lucy Roy and Braden had 12 each.
Greenup welcomes Lawrence County Monday and visits Lewis County Thursday.
RUSSELL 1-1
Russell opened the season 1-1 with a 3-1 win over Raceland and a 3-1 loss to Greenup.
Sydney Sizemore paced the Devils with 19 kills in the win over Raceland. Carmin Corey had 11.
Corey led Russell in the loss to Greenup with 13 kills.
Russell welcomes Greenup Monday and Ashland Tuesday.
RACELAND 0-2
Raceland fell to Russell, 3-1 and 3-0 to Ashland.
Allayson Rigsby and Peyton Mackie finished with 10 kills in the loss to Russell. Rigsby had five blocks.
Rigsby paced Raceland with seven kills in the loss to Ashland.
Raceland welcomes East Carter Tuesday and visits Boyd County Thursday.
